The app makes you look like a pro! As first-time builders of a greenhouse in the back yard, we used the Rafter Estimator to accurately design and determine the optimal angles, rise and run, board lengths, and bird nest cuts for function, sturdiness, and looks. We built 7 identical rafters and they all aligned perfectly. The app was helpful in creating different results quickly so we could compare different roof angles for choosing the optimal configiration for water and snow runoff.

Brilliant, thanks so straight forward to use. 1 update, I still love this app for planning my pent shed roof. 1 negative feedback point if I turn my phone from portrait to landscape all the info I inputed deletes. Not the end of the world but a bit of a pain.

This is not an accurate app. Luckily the rafters were long and not too short. Rafters were 3/4" too long. I used a constuction calculator and they came out correct. It's too bad it seemed like a good app.

App quickly lays out a rafter with a few inputs. Works well. Would love to see the hip rafter option added. Unless im missing something. Worth paying for and hopefully will encourage more development.

Format is horrible for phones! 1. Should provide standard pitch entry (ie: 7/12) 2. Can not read complete fields on phone format, and turning phone clears all fields. 3. Simple phone movement results in a popup ad, and reset of calculator

Fine for working out rough rafter lengths but not great The terminology is all wrong and only give the option for a lean to roof. If the half span was to the center of the ridge, I could've worked with it.

I've run 3 concepts through this app and worked them on paper. It seems to be very accurate but I see some need for options on cuts such as birds mouth adjustments.

Another app that doesn't deduct the ridge thickness out of the rafter length. It also doesn't get the height right for the ridge as depending on ridge thickness u need to come down maybe 25mm for say a 45mm ridge (45° pitch roof) to get a true measurement. The rafter length has to be shorter if the flat part of the ridge isn't quite at the peak. The app takes the measurement to the very peak of the roof. Ok for back to back rafters with no ridge or to find overall height of roof.
