Shapa is not a diet and exercise program - it's unique platform that pairs a numberless scale with a user-friendly app to motivate you toward healthy lifestyle changes. You'll get a tailored program based on your personality, habits and environment to help you achieve long-term weight management success.Measure Progress Not Weight:
No more love-hate relationship with your scale. It's normal for weight to fluctuate daily, and the way traditional scales are designed actually hinders your progress.
Get a More Accurate Sense of Your Health:
Instead of seeing your weight, our system uses smart algorithms to tell you your Shapa Color and your Shapa Age, truer metrics of your actual health.
Personalized to You:
Shapa analyzes your unique personality, preferences, environment, habits and lifestyle. As a result, your Shapa apps recommends personalized activities called Missions that are right for YOU.
Features:
Shapa Color and Shapa Age: These are better feedback mechanisms to replace seeing your weight. As you progress, you should see your Shapa Color and Shapa Age improve!
Missions: These are small, simple actions that are personalized to you.
Start Over: If the system has found that you haven’t used the Shapa over a certain period of time, you can “reset” your progress.
Vacation Mode: You can pause so as not to affect/disturb your progress over time. But some people in our tests are actually traveling with their Shapa.
Shapa Streak: Every time you step on the Shapa, it tracks your ongoing streak.
Community: Invite people to Shapa, share your progress
Amazon Alexa: Get your Alexa to read out your daily Missions.
Design: Shapa is sleek wood design (in brown, black, wood) so that it looks like it belongs in your living room.
Why Shapa? We all know that weight gain is linked to serious health risks, from heart disease to diabetes. But for most of us, losing weight is an uphill battle. Shapa takes a behavioral science approach that understands the psychology behind why it’s difficult to lose weight.
Developed by leading social scientist Dan Ariely, Shapa guides you to long-term weight management success through achieving healthy milestones in a personalized program. Shapa pairs an innovative device with a user-friendly app to analyze, track, and motivate you. Shapa is not a diet and exercise program - it is a long term health solution.

This app, on Android, is a total piece of trash. It only properly syncs once out of every 5 times. I have to reboot my phone to make it work. Turning off/on Bluetooth does not fix it neither does ending the app. The app produces messages with a place to tap to acknowledge but they never work and you have to end the app. I'd take my money back but bought this on a leap of faith with a No Returns policy on the scale. Maybe spend more time on usability and less time on badges.

I found the scale very useful in getting me out of some bad habits of obsessing over my weight & weighing myself constantly. The app itself is clunky and it would be better if the scale itself didn't need to sync to Bluetooth in real time. I would prefer to just be able to step on the scale without opening the app and then just sync it to the app once a week or so. I recently had to deal with their customer service team and found the experience very stressful & much more difficult than need be.

Doesn't provide enough meaningful feedback and data to justify the price. I liked the idea of not seeing my weight every time I step on the scale...but I do want to see my progress! I had to download and connect the Google Fit app just to see what I actually weigh. I think ten days is too big of a range. The little data it does show doesn't even make any sense. At various times, it has told me my body weight and body fat are either up or down, while the actual numbers remain unchanged.

shapa is...well weird. i have not found it to offer daily consistent advice and guiadance for losing weight, my main goal. in fact, it really avoids the issue. for a person as off track as i am, i need evidence based daily support. this isnt it. i find the missions odd and without context. For example it says to read up on Zing & there are several things by that name. i wasnt sure which one without explanation so abandoned it. i asked for help from CS but they never responded. not pleased.

Cancelled my subscription after the initial six months because this scale seems inaccurate. I'd weigh myself daily using Shapa & my regular scale & noticed discrepancies. It's not worth paying $10/mo. There is also a claim that if you cancel your subscription, you can still use the scale & see the weight number instead of a colour. This is incorrect. I just tried weighing in & no numbers were shown, only a link to resubscribe. I hope the scale can be recycled.

Im so impressed with this overall app/ product. I I have always tried to consistently weigh myself before but was always left upset and angry when the scale would either not move or go up after I had been being healthy. I always was more upset at the bad news then I was happy with the good news. this made it so I weigh in consistently, so I'm accountable consistently. The app is also really good at giving you just enough information and not too much. I really have had no problems.

I was hoping for something more revolutionary, but Shapa is effectively a numberless scale. It seems very sensitive to (water) weight fluctuations - swinging from blue to teal to grey faster than it seems actually possible to be "losing" or "gaining" weight. For example, when I started lifting weights again I went grey overnight and stayed there for nearly a week, and if I eat a meal heavy in sodium it throws my out of teal for a day or two. But if numbers stress, Shapa is an alternative.
