Shows which parts of the world are in daylight, which are in twilight, and which are in darkness. The approximate positions of the sun and moon (projected on to the Earth) are also shown.Various locations around the world can be selected. Takes into account timezones to show the current time in the selected location and also estimates the sunrise and sunset time. The date, time and speed of the simulation can also be changed.
The app also features an Android widget, which allows you put the map on your home screen. For users of Android 4.0+, the widget is resizeable.
Note: The app now supports being moved to the SD Card. If you move the app to SD card, the widget will not be available. This is a limitation of the Android system. To use the widget, the app MUST be installed on your phone's internal storage.
Now also allows you to explore alternative reality scenarios e.g. a change in the Earth's tilt (see "What If" section of Options menu).
Making requests / reporting problems: Sometimes people give low star ratings because their particular location or timezone is not included in the default list. Please don't use the rating system to "punish", instead just email me!

The Widget stopped working (Doesn't display the map when dropped to the page) with the Android update today. Has been a great app up to this problem. 2022/10/30 Another Android update today, Widget problem still exists. 2022/11/02 The App was updated today and the Widget now works again ... I did purchase tha app. I like it but pleas if one thong could be changed for full screen mode one slight touch deactivates it. Could that be changed in the next update please. I believe that deactivation could be done by ppwer button or double tap or some other suggestive gesture instead of just one tap on map which could give a user possibilities of zooming or panning the map in full screen mode. Also since i bought the app the ads disappeared but the map deteriorated. Hm.. .

For once there is app content that is ideal for viewing in portrait mode (the day-night line is rather vertical at most inhabited latitudes) and guess what; this app is fixed in landscape mode. And what's wrong with a simple Patterson map projection, in stead of this squeezed stuff?

Update for 2022: FOR OVER SEVEN YEARS I've had this app, and it's STILL a GREAT APP, so Read on! This is the ONLY Day/Night app to have...the display is CLEAR. I use it for Amateur Radio "Grey Line" propagation in real-time, and forecasting. Truly a Pocket Geochron! So a tip of the Telegrapher's Green Visor to the developer, "73", and All the Best from Radio Station W8LV!

Worked great until today's update...now, widget doesn't work...blank on screen. Go to the app and it opens fine...just the widget not working. Yall might want to roll back the update. UPDATE - Thanks for the widget fix!!!

Really useful simple app but since the last update, the wigit has stopped working. How many times do we read this on reviews!! Up until then, 5 stars but now 1 so 3 is the average. All fixed. Thanks you. Back to being 'spot on'!

Great and very useful app but I'd like to see more locations available in the built-in database list. Perhaps also an option to view the world as a globe as well as the flat earth projection.
