Awful Without A Controller. If you care about your sanity, play with a controller. Level exploration is abysmal with the touchscreen. If there was a stationary dpad/stick for controls it would be a massive improvemet. Controlling characters with the current scheme is terrible. Precise platforming is impossible for some of the harder chests and secret areas. Battle is perfectly fine though. Menus require touch which is why it says "limited controller support." Still a great game!

Love the game but it's a flawed port. Touchscreen controls really suck, but you can use a ps4/ps5 controller via bluetooth(push and hold the PS button and share button, and you should be able to pair it with your phone) Unfortunately, you can't re-map the control-scheme(it's different than the original PS version, which really confuses me). But it's playable at least. Perhaps an update can fix it

If first time playing then it is worth buying. This is a mobile adaptation of the game. Cant be mad at what is expected. (Edit: I hooked up the Bluetooth and an Xbox One controller and BOOM BABY!💥 I was blown away at how much it improved my experience playing this mobile port. Absolutely recommend to hook up your Xbox controller to eliminate all issues regarding the touch controls. 👍🏽)

Easily one of the best games ever is totally ruined for the simple fact that it's not able to do Multi-touch on it. It's been years since I got this game and Haven't been able to get outside from the first dungeon. Not because it's hard, it just extremely annoys the hell out of me that the controls are so bad. They should've just used some mimic'd controller buttons instead.

It seems like such an interesting idea for a game, but I just had trouble getting into it. But putting opinion aside, I was trying to play this with the touch screen controls, and they're entirely unusable as such. Constantly leaving rooms when I push left or right to walk. Platforming is impossible. Maybe I'll try again some day when I can get a proper controller attached, but it's not a playable port.

SOLUTION!! Yes the controls are HORRIBLE because of the touch screen, BUT I found a solution if you own a PS4 controller!! If you hold the ps button and share button on the controller at the same time, in a few seconds the controller will start blinking differently than usual. If u go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone, you will see that you can connect your PS4 controller to your phone!! This makes field movements and battles feel like the good ole days, but menus are still touch screen.

One of my personal favorites. Still have a PS1 copy. I was thrilled to see it available. The touch controls are super clunky and imprecise. Navigating dungeons is a chore because of it. The additional "content" is pay-to-win garbage, marring what is a beautifully designed game. I'm not sure if they tweaked the leveling to encourage people to buy EXP and attack power, but it wouldn't surprise me. The combat is still fun, though.

Great game, but unplayable. I've been looking forward to finally I've tried to use playing this classic rpg. the visuals and music are great, and the story is intriguing. However, not only do I hate touch controls, but the game had essential platforming segments that can't be done with touch controls. I've tried using a gamepad, but to no avail.
