DS audio allows you to stream music stored on your DiskStation with your Android device wherever an Internet connection is available. Better yet, with the offline mode you can listen to songs stored in the device’s local memory for when no network connection is available. You can browse music by albums, artists, folders or genres, create your own playlists or share them with your friends, and even rate your music! And if you have dedicated stereo speakers at home, DS audio can also become a remote control to stream music to them.

This app still forgets where it is in my playlist when I use it with Android Auto. It also loses connection occasionally and I have to force quit or restart my phone to make it work again. This is dangerous because I'm driving while dealing with these issues. Please fix this app Synology. It's been almost a year since the last update, just ridiculous. I've switched to Plex now and it's pretty great. I'm not sure why I suffered for so long with this app.

Sometimes it doesn't force the client to login again after a session times out and won't say anything about it either. It just hangs and refuses to load media or any data from the server. Fixable, but needs to be addressed. Also, i keep changing the storage location for downloaded songs to my SD card and it keeps changing it back to internal storage. Lastly, I'd like for it to recognize the directory structure on the server and not lump downloads into a single directory instead of using tags.

Overall, this is a very basic, no frills music player. The sound is good over my local network, and haven't had buffering drops yet. Navigation is sub-par, like having to navigate from the current folder back to the root just to access the Settings menu. Missing features that would greatly improve the experience: - dark mode - standard navigation system - any options for sorting downloaded songs - album artwork, more info on Playlist screen when showing queue.

It works fine, I do have an extensive music library, finding music with the search function works fine. The shoutcast implementation is OK but it seems that a lot of online audio sources are unavailable (police scanner, Air traffic control, emergency services...) Playlists are easily manageable. requests: - when double tapping a track, it should start playing immediately - dark mode should be available, not only to save power, but it would also look better

Good features if somewhat dated interface. Not a reliable streamer. Never been able to have a continuous uninterrupted stream with DS audio, always pauses for ages, stops the stream for unknown reasons and when you press play again the app sign outs,or it just signs out for no reason and refuses to sign in without multiple attempts. Other apps have no such issues. Warning: Default setting is to download music to your phone. Also downloading music does not improve streaming performance at all.

I like a lot about the app, but it seems to burn battery like crazy. Fairly sure I couldn't get through a 'random 100' playlist unless it's on a mains charger, which is a shame because I like that feature. Also, I don't think it should be keeping tracks long term if you're just streaming from the NAS. I know the cache is capped, and it's easy to clear, so not a big problem, but if I want a long-term copy of some music I can ask for it.

Great idea with pretty poor execution. I love that I can store my music on my Synology and listen to it from anywhere. But using the app becomes a chore. The default settings were converting MP3 which takes a long time and took me a long time to figure out how to not do that. The app will also lock up when playing music. Got home from my walk and I couldn't stop the music. Pause didn't work, couldn't load the app back up to stop it. Had to force stop it. Could be amazing with more work.

Pretty good, a couple of improvements would help a lot. 1. Sometimes plays a song in the queue twice in a row. 2. Once you queue an album you have to go search for that album again if you want to rate the songs as you play them because it forgets/clears what you just searched for. 3. Newish issue: If you select a song partway into an album (song 3, for example), it adds the whole album to the queue anyway instead of from that song forward.
