The app seems to have most of the features the competitors offer. It works fine, but there are few things that would have been great. For example, when I'm uploading many files to the Drive through Android share button, some fails. I would have like to know the reason, and the files that have failed. Also, when uploading these files, it would have been great that the process runs in background so it doesn't block the phone during the upload (Dropbox does it).

Give annoying errors messages when using an excellent TLS/SSL cert on the server ! If you buy a commercial cert or use a Let'sEncrypt cert, your browser see it as safe but Synology apps (for both computers and smartphone) give an "unsafe" alert message and you have to force an exception. This cause apps to no more sync files each time your valid cert is renewed (for Let'sEncrypt every 3 months). This issue lasts for many years and old weak SSL certs do not give this error.

I have a podcast audio file I need to listen to. It's an hour long, downloaded to my device but as there is no Google Cast option built I am forced to listen to it within the app. Opening with YouTube Music only opens a player as an overlay which won't allow me to switch to another screen or cast it either. Poor implementation and integration with Android.

I really cannot fully express the level of frustration I feel over the fact that Drive cannot access the photos directory. I absolutely loath how Photos insists on folders but its good for viewing. And drive does excellent backup, but viewing is just mediocre. This whole separate apps do different things and access different folders is incredibly frustrating!

Sync complete, no errors, but on my mobile I have 1614 images while the Synology folder has 1613... All files are same type with similar sizes. No filters or exclusions... Cannot trust an app this inconsistent. Oh one more: when I go to Task, edit, and click delete, the popup ask confirmation to DISABLE instead of delete. I click ok, and it gets deleted...

Good but needs improvement. After trying to make Synology Photos work as my personal cloud (only does one-way backup),I've settled on Synology Drive for now, syncing my four relevant photos directories from Pixel 7 phone (1)DCIM/Camera, 2)Screenshots, 3)Whatsappp-saved, and 4)Downloads). This way, photos are backed up but also delete/sync on the NAS when I delete images that are no longer needed. App can't yet compete with Google because "sync on demand" is missing.

Nice so far.. issues noticed. Sync reports issues as files not there anymore but won't say which folder or file that failed the sync. And love if we could add details to a scanned document where we could leave a custom description or details later we could use to search; I use it to scan my invoices n I would like to add some text so that i can later used that to cross link to their sources using a script

Works, but needs improved. Biggest issue I have is whenever roaming networks, uploads get interrupted. This can be Wi-Fi/cellular or even toggling a VPN. Instead of uploads continuing where they left off, they are completely abandoned and marked as failed. Huge flaw that needs addressed. Can't say whether downloads have the same or similar issue. Compression, file blocks, and hashes are the biggest way to adapt to interrupted downloads. This should be standard everywhere on Synology.
