It's completely BS. You were charged automatically for a lead, but here's the funny part: while your customer can choose the professional who offers the best price, each professional charged a fee. Ultimately, only one gets hired, and that's the one who quotes the lowest price. Additionally, after you schedule and book your time, the customer can cancel appointment because they find someone else on Thumbtack. Because even you get booked doesn't mean you get hired until the job done.

I'm tentatively optimistic after they removed instant bookings, unfortunately they still charge several pros at once for the same lead which i do not find fair, the charge for the lead should be reduced for every pro the customer contacts before you respond. Ultimately I'm happy they listened to feed back on the instant bookings but as a prev top pro I've all but moved away from thumbtack bc of how bad instant booking was and would need greater incentive to return.

Great concept, but it is not worthy to pay $31 for a lead, and the customer does not reply back. It is unfair in any type of way you look at it. I have paid over $70 dollars 💸 on leads with no response. So the money I make in one project I spend it on the app. I believe a better system is getting charged when you get hired. The customer gets to see all the options, but once they reach out to a contractor, they are obligated to move forward. Otherwisethey have to pay for the fees.

Lead prices have gotten out of control. They've gotten too high to pass on to my customers and they refuse to give refunds for customers that just stop all communication. I've been using this app since 2017 and it was great to build clients but has hurt business these last couple of years. Last year I paid over $10k in lead fees with most of them not being profitable. Lately I keep my business hidden and look for leads that aren't expensive. Tt isn't well known enough to gouge the pros like this

I entered my preferred name and, after it ran the background check, it changed my name to my full legal name and the app will not allow me to change it. I wanted to immediately cancel and delete the app, but it won't let you delete or suspend your account without someone from the app getting in touch with you... Which I'm still waiting for. Update: I can't get them on the phone to actually cancel and they've run up a $75 bill on my account - after I cancelled. DO NOT USE THIS APP. IT IS A SCAM!

I think the idea is great, but the app is kinda bad. Consistently tries to change your weekly budget to get you more and more leads to get work. Not 1 lead has accepted or responded to me to do the work, but it still charges me money to give me the lead. This app is a complete rip off and needs to be shut down. They will send "leads" of people just to charge you for them. The people never respond through the app, text or call. I've even had a few where the number was disconnected.

Oh what a waste. Clicking on Help, adjust target and anything useful leads to an 'error in internet connection' but you surely can increase your budget. This app has a photo/video upload but won't accept video files in its search. What a waste of time. This app is best suited in a trashcan full of thumbtacks.

Leads are way too expensive for the fact that they have no filter set for quality. What I mean by quality is that they will charge you for a lead. The client will.nevwr contact you, and when you try to get your lead refunded, they refuse. It was good when i first got it, but at this point, it's costing more money than it brings.
