Horrible app! It's so buggy! Been trying to use this thing for 3 months. I have 5 Soma 3 units and at least once a day one or more of them just stop responding. I have to plug the device in to power to get it to respond. I've also had it stop working and report "battery level too low top operate" when the battery was at 75%! Really??? Tech support is worthless. No response after weeks. They claim they will update the firmware "soon" - that was almost 2 months ago. Don't buy these things!

App itself isn't bad at all. It works and connects quickly to my shades. Shades are great and connect to my hubitat for automation. The only thing I wish was that the soma connect "hub" would offer the same app functionality as if you were there in the same room to connect to the shades. As it is now, the hub really only interacts with other hubs and Google home. Looks like a recent update enabled shade control in Google home too!

This app sucks. I've had it for over 3 years and it has never worked right worked right. They did do a major firmware update a while ago, but Very few of the new features actually work. When I contact customer service they say we fixed that try again. I do and then I contact them again and they say we've fixed that try again. Go with a different company.

Marginally useful app. Excludes vertical blinds. Can't give input as to how your blinds are opening if the actions are reverse. Can't rename blinds in the app once they're setup to work better with Soma Connect. Difficult to slightly tilt the blinds in the app to 50% open. The graphic flips to totally open or totally closed most of the time. Can't group blinds by room. Any changes to tilt modules in the app requires manually opening blinds to start setup all over again. Really inconvenient.

This has to be one of the worst product experiences of my life. I'm reviewing both hardware and app. My Soma 3 device will not charge beyond 50%, the touch controls are unresponsive and the worst of all it's slow and incredibly loud. No way to open the shades without waking up. The app is bare bones, I wish I had the option to slowly open the shades in the morning but it's not an option. There's still the issue of the device renaming your phone to be able to work which is not acceptable.

Getting the app to "connect" is glitchy. It works when you open the app, but shortly after stops. Firmware update is glitchy, the app says downloading and installing, but it never installs. Works poorly with large shades. They "slip" down with time. So when I open them via soma, it doesnt go all the way up, and if I close, it tries to force past the limit. There is a new slippage compensation feature...but since firmware update doesnt work, I cant use it. Why do you keep renaming my bluetooth!!

If you're trying to figure out what's changing your Bluetooth device name to RISEAPPxxx, this is the app. It's quite annoying, and I can't see any way to change the behavior. Other than that, it mostly works, although it's not a great user experience. The Soma Connect functionality, in particular, is functional but very clunky. For the cost of the devices, I'd hope to see better quality in this app, but at least it's functional for me.

There has to be a better way to design this app. It seems impossible to close the blinds to a set percentage. Dragging your finger up or down the screen to adjust the blinds is incredibly faulty. I drag down to roughly 50%, lift my finger up, and it goes right back to where it was, as of I'd done nothing. I can do quick short swipes to get it to move tiny fractions of a movement, but then it will arbitrarily close on its own to 100%. The automatic triggers don't work properly either.
