Frequently asked questions
Question: How can I log into a different FRITZ!Box?
The MyFRITZ!App supports operation of one particular FRITZ!Box. If you would like to switch FRITZ!Boxes, select "Log in again" in the settings. For login with the FRITZ!Box you must be connected with the Wi-Fi network of your FRITZ!Box.
Question: How can I access my home network when I am away from home?
If you enable the home network connection in the settings of the MyFRITZ!App, it is simple to establish a secure VPN connection to your home network with the switch at the top rights of the "Home Network" page. Through the protected, private VPN connection you can access and control the devices and data in your home network with the MyFRITZ!App.
Question: Why can't I access my FRITZ!Box when I am away from home?
Make sure that you enabled "Enable use from on the go" in the settings.
If you are using an Android device with the EMUI 4 Android interface, open "Settings / Advanced Settings / Battery Manager / Protected Apps". Enable the setting there for the MyFRITZ!App.
Some internet service providers (including many cable providers) provide connections that do not allow you to access the home connection from the internet or certain restrictions apply because no public IPv4 address is provided. The MyFRITZ!App normally recognizes that type of connection automatically and displays a corresponding message. These types of connections are called "DS Lite", "Dual Stack Lite" and "Carrier Grade NAT (CGN)". You can ask your provider whether you can receive a public IPv4 address.
Question: How long do messages remain available in the MyFRITZ!App?
The app keeps the last 400 messages of any type available for you, so that you can access older messages as needed using the search function. Older messages are deleted automatically.
Question: If I have suggestions for improving the app or discover an error, how can I tell AVM?
We always welcome feedback! Send us a short description via the navigation bar and "Give Feedback". A log is automatically attached to your message to help us analyze errors.

Good App, also easy quick Access to the Web Menu. I use it often for activate the Hotspot for guests. English translation available, that's good.

Very pleased to see that the VPN function is back again in the latest update. And great to see the developper / AVM listening to their user. Thanks (gut gemacht). I can only second what the previous previewer said about the missing VPN function. Not having VPN in this app and the configuration within Android obviously not working with the FRITZbox - what a shame! Seems the correct German word for this version is "kaputtverbessert"

MyFRITZ!App seems to be an unfortunate black sheep among otherwise good products from AVM. * Access to the FRITZ!Box (7490) GUI from the app works every fifth time, best case. * Replaying voice messages via the in-app Messages menu works every third time, best case. * Downloading a file from FRITZ's internal NAS is not possible - it starts but never finishes. Clearing the cash (both in the app and Chrome), reinstalling the app or resetting the FRITZ!Box doesn't solve the above issues.

practical app, functioning most of the time. it's just that since yesterday I am stuck in "Searching for FRITZ!Box" mode. clearing cache, uninstalling and reinstalling, restarting device, force stop. ... all these attempts fail to bring this app back to functionality. tried on another android device, and it works fine. eventually solved the "Searching for FRITZ!Box" deadlock by waiting long enough until I was promoted to enter a password. all fine now :)

Works well. Sometimes I have a hard time finding the right settings and it is hard to tell what can be done in the app and what not yet. I am missing the option to manage access times directly from the current network devices screen (my most used screen). From there I would actually want to access "anything" about each device. Adding more options there, such as "exclude from Guest WiFi" and "show offline devices", would be super helpful.

Since the last update, the block/unblock function in the app for individual devices, stopped working completely. Now you have to "open interface" and navigate through sub-menus to do this. Absolutely terrible UI bug, which basically makes the app itself pointless. FIX IT. Update: newer versions fixed the issue. Only 4 stars because going through the menus to certain functions can be complicated.

Well-designed, works great for checking voicemail and accessing Fritz!NAS, except for the iOS app being unable to upload multiple files at once (while selecting files in the app) and not being listed as an option in the apple "share" drop-down menu (-> therefore, at least for me, I can only upload photos, documents etc. WITHIN the MyFritz! app and NOT by using the "share" option of other apps)

App *was* fantastic. Easily able to VPN into my home connection but this feature has now been removed and you need to manually configure it in your OS. Unfortunately, in Australia we don't get static public IP addresses, so this will not work for me and I've lost this functionality entirely. Would love for this feature back in this app or even in an entirely different app!
