Description / Functions

permissions:
read phone status and identity is needed for muting alarms when calls are detected
read/write external storage is needed for importing/exporting favourites

This is an online clock radio / radio alarm app.
An internet connection is required in order to play an online stream.
In case there is no internet connection available, an integrated audio file will be played instead to make sure the user will get woken up anyway.

You can set multiple repeating (weekly) or one time alarms per day.
On the main page you can find a power napping timer for short naps (1-120 min).

You can add stations to your favourites and play them in the radio player.

A notification in the notification bar indicates the next alarm time; tapping the notification will open the app.

Settings:
•alarm volume
•snooze duration: 1-30 min
•alarm auto off: 0, 30, 60, 90, 120 min
•safety dialog when disabling an alarm: on/off
•increasing volume (standard alarm): 0-60 min
•increasing volume (power nap): 0-5 min
•vibration (standard alarm): on/off
•vibration (power nap): on/off
•notification type for next alarm: fixed / deletable / off
•different color schemes
•add a custom stream to favourites

When the alarm time is reached, you may:
•stop the alarm (X)
•snooze the alarm for the set snooze duration (Z)
•control the volume (if you want to continue listening), this switches off the vibration and the increase in volume stops, if switched on
-a notification in the notification bar indicates that the radio is on and a tap leads back to the "wake-up" screen

The alarm will mute on any call and stop the vibration.
After a call, the wake-up volume will be restored.

Love the app. It's light weight, and does exactly what it needs to and does it well. The only problem I face is that the app crashes (shuts down) when a change in network connection is detected. For example, almost every time that I leavean area which causes my phone to switch from WiFi to mobile data, the app stops working.

I love apps that do what they're intended to do, without any faffing about. Does this have lots of unnecessary bells and whistles? No. Does it play the radio at the time you choose? Yes. EDIT 6/7/25: Decided to add to this review four years later. The app is still every bit as good as it always was. It feels like how the internet ought to be - it just does a job, for years and years on end, without any bother or any unpleasantness. I recommend the app to everyone. Here's to many more years.

I just keep coming back to this app and it's been about 10 years! No ads and the sleep timer is such a blessing for those nights my mind is wandering. Some channels aren't always available, but I found a classical channel. Even though you can't access a couple of channels you still have a lot of options, and with the search filters you'll very easily find something similar! Highly recommend!

Love the concept and brilliant that you get so much for free. Unfortunately I got the app to listen to cricket on BBC 5 Live Sports Extra, and at some point in the last year the station seems to have stopped working- I can play others but when I select that one there is no sound. If that could be fixed it would be an easy 5 stars, as when I originally downloaded the app it worked perfectly!

Great app, nice and straightforward, does the job without extraneous features. One thing I would like to be able to do is to switch off the alarm but go on listening to the radio (at the moment, I have to turn off the alarm, unlock my phone, open the app, select the radio function ... annoying when I end up missing a chunk of music!

User friendly. Easy to schedule alarms, repeat alarms and edit alarms. Always loved my old clock radio alarm. This replaces. Now if I can find one to replace my CD alarm so it plays a particular selection, I would like that too. Maybe exists, hope to find it and that it works as well as this one. Radio Swiss plays excellent classical music and hearing my first language spoken in between is soooo comforting. Works perfectly and simply.

Have been using the app for a few days..it does work in the sense that it does play music in the mornings as an alarm. But it isn't the radio, it's the same song every day I wake up to which sounds like an upbeat copyright free instrumental jingle you hear on TV. I tried different radio stations but it's still that same song, and only that one song, that actually plays. I wanted to hear the radio, I would prefer to just use my normal alarm instead of this app.

My 30 year old clock radio with two alarms stopped working. Instead of buying a new one, I thought I'd try an app. This is it. It is better than my old clock radio. The radio station comes on softly and gradually gets louder. I can change the alarm time quickly. The time is always right. The battery backup is the phone. Brilliant!
