A Google user
Just did a fresh install on a new handset running Android 14 and the app doesn't work at all. The initial prompts granting permissions work, then it just tells me it doesn't know my location. Hamburger menu doesn't respond. Add alarm menu doesn't respond. "No location" notice doesn't reapond. Nothing responds. After about 10 seconds the app closes. I use this app every day (on my old, now broken handset) and I have paid for it, so this isn't great.

Works very well every time for me! Very helpfel making sure my chicken coop is closed before it gets too dark, and the wild animals come out, by always having an alarm 15min after sunset. For the people having trouble, set this apps' battery usage to 'Unrestricted' in Android's settings, and disable battery saver. Long press the app icon, select App info > Battery > Change usage to unrestricted. Battery saver setting is found with Android's battery settings. Thanks for the great app!

Dear Sun Alarm Team, I love the app and have a couple of suggestions: 1. Please add an alarm for Brahma Muhurat (96 minutes before sunrise), the ideal time for yoga and meditation. 2. There's a bug where the alarm can't be dismissed easily; I often have to clear it from RAM or restart my phone (Samsung A55). These updates would make the app even better. Thank you!

The application is quite impressive, offering a wide range of features and options. However, it appears that the developer does not respond to emails or engage with user reviews on the Play Store. This lack of interaction hinders the effective resolution of any issues or concerns that may arise.

Issue. Recently, after updating to android 14 in samsung phone. The alarm cannot be dismissed without unlocking the phone screen. Hope you can fix it. Otherwise, this app is perfect.

I like being able to set sunrise/sunset alarms with a specific offset. However, the app is failing to trigger vibrations when the alarms go off even though the vibrate option is selected. This makes the app pretty useless for me since I don't want to play audio, so I never know when the alarm has gone off until I happen to look at my phone. (Pixel 6 pro)

Upgraded to the Pro version, which allows to set more than two alarms, and set the alarm relative to more phenomena, like start of 'Golden hour' or Civil Twilight - useful for anyone who needs to get on their way as early as can in area w/o artificial lighting. One issue; alarm keeps going in very specific case: when two alarms are set for 6 minutes before sunset together with 8 hours before sunrise, the alarm can only be silenced by shutting down the phone - trust this'll be sorted.

Five Stars- Excellent!! This is a really well written app that does anything you can imagine related to triggering an alarm on a solar type event- really solid. Android in all its flavors can interact with this app and screw it up- its not the app, its a bunch of settings that vary by Android revision that try to kill apps like this. Test it thoroughly on your phone/tablet. You have to either enable this app to wake your phone from sleep or tell your phone not to kill this app if its running in the background. This varies by Android version. Also, when you set an alarm to play a song, the song is an alarm sound not music. Make sure that you have the volume levels set properly. Sunalarm also has an audio level that you need to verify. I love this app, it works perfectly but Android is a fickle OS that will fight you all the way.
