Cannot get the damn thing to pair. We've walked for over and hour and there is no data available. No clear instructions on how to activate or retrieve data. I installed app from Google play. I press the paw on the activity tracker and the red light blinks a few seconds then goes out. I don't know if it's off or on. No instructions. I have compatible phone but under apps in settings on my phone it does not list this app although icon on phone screen. I don't think this UK item is ready for USA

So this service doesn't offer GPS, so they don't charge a monthly fee to use it & focus on the actual amount of time your dog is exercising, which is exactly what I was looking for. It's confusing getting to the screen w/ all past days..I still don't know how to get there (just figure it out from clicking around) but my BIG issue is that the service is only geared towards people in the UK, like you can't sign up for the prizes and other perks they offer, which is why only 3 stars unfortunately

Whilst the device itself is just about OK, (it really needs a user activated light and or sound signal), the location accuracy is not good enough. The app often takes forever to load and when it does it starts on the summary screen. For a location app why can't I set it to open on the 'location' screen? the 'find my dog' option takes longer to work than his actual walk sometimes. Once the PitPat came off in dense undergrowth (or so we thought) and we spent 6 hours searching for it, GPS poor.

Tracker provides some fun and useful information about my dog's day. Having to get hold of the dog to click the tracker in order to upload data is a minor inconvenience. That app on the phone is a little difficult to navigate to get to specific things such as yesterday's data, and I hope too see improvement in the future. Designers should look to the fitbit dashboard for inspiration. I have not yet experienced any ads at all in this app.

As long as you understand the limitations, it works as expected. It's not instantaneous and dependent on cell coverage, but does give a good idea of the general area of your dog. You can set it to phone home more often. This reduces the wait time at the cost of battery life. In our case, we get enough coverage around where we are, and once the device gets the signal to start live tracking it gives an accurate enough location. We've used this to find our puppy after she got out of our yard.

Update- I found that some time the app need 7-9 mins to find my dog, which is scarry because that is mean anything can happen with him, but sometimes the app can not connect to the tracker at all, even in the city. To get useful data out I have to wait minutes sometimes or restart the app multiple times. There is no option to save daily walk routes only for customers who subscribe for 3-4£. I can recommend any other device. After a year this device getting worse.

The PitPat app has some great features, but there's room for improvement. While the GPS functionality is reliable, the app itself could be better. Some basic features are missing, like a persistent notification during walks that allows for easy stopping and a low battery warning. Additionally, the app feels sluggish and slow to respond. A performance boost would greatly improve the overall user experience. Update: confirmed with your support notifications are not working

Great gadget, horrible app! The gadget and GPS tool itself is ok. You have the control to change it to emergency ping to increase the frequency of the call back to make it try and connect faster, that part is all fine. The app however is quite sluggish and lacks an essential notification. The app doesn't warn you when the device battery is low. If you don't check it every day, you might end up going for walks without the device working. I would even be happy if it had a widget that displayed it
