This small app can work with either typing in values or selecting color bands. I prefer to type in my value. Its then shows the resistor and sets the number of bands according to the tolerance. When next higher or next lower are pressed the nearest STANDARD values are shown. Resistors are normally manufactured with STANDARD values. When you design a circuit you need to ask for a STANDARD value resistor.
