An inclinometer is an instrument used for measuring angles of slope (or tilt), elevation, or depression of an object with respect to gravity's direction. Clinometers measure both inclines (positive slopes, as seen by an observer looking upwards) and declines (negative slopes, as seen by an observer looking downward) using two different metrics roll and pitch.

Free
Simple and Straightforward
● Can be used as Clinometer or Bubble Level
● Measure Slope using roll or pitch
● Use camera to measure inclination and elevation remotly
● Absolute or relative measurement

Roll

This is the rotation of the phone around the axis perpendicular to the device screen. Use it to measure inclination with any side of your phone or remotly when using the camera.

Pitch

This is the angle between a plane perpendicular to the device's screen and a plane parallel to the ground. Holding your phone screen perpendicular to the floor will give you a pitch close to zero. Use it to measure a surface slope when you phone is landing on that surface or an object elevation when using the camera.

Very clean app, but I'm unable to use it for some basic tasks (could.benuser error). I want to measure the angle between two planes, so it would be useful to place on one plane, reset to zero and move to the second plane. I does not seem to allow that. Also in AR mode it only provides a virtual moving vertical, not a horizontal which is required for shelves or picture hanging. Can ot do this?

Good app that need a touch more work. For my purposes, checking slopes on tracks for accessibility, the logical way to use the phone is long side to the ground. Unfortunately, when placed on its side the text does not rotate. The app also provides figures for the inclination of both edges. In my context the data for the short edge is not relevant. One has to be careful to pick up the right figure. Thus an option to choose one or other data stream, or both, would be good. Worth testing.

This app is exactly what I'm looking for: simple, free, shows the camera view so that I can measure slope inclinations accurately. Its downfall is that the measurements lag behind the movement of the phone by several seconds, making it very annoying to use (measurements may not stabilize for 5-10s)

I guess it does what it says it does. But it does very little. Seemingly no way to save or export any data. I wanted something that works like "Theodolite" but on Android. I paid for the app to avoid the targeted advertising. Deleting anyway.

Forward facing camera and determination of angle through lock button should work great for avoiding avalanches. Our instructor in AIARES 1 training had an app similar to this but on iOS. This looks to replicate it and help avoid slopes above 30 degrees that can slide while being at the top of the slope.

first clinometer that uses the front camera and sights through preview. I've downloaded seven "clinometers" and four "transits" and two "levels" that all had high dl numbers and over four stars. this is literally the first one that has the most basic function I'm looking for. yay.

Immediately on opening this app took over my screen i could not exit without choosing an option. Either one gave consent to use your info . No option to exit. Deleted immediately. Will look for another app that doesn't take over my screen.

The apps works like a charm. The symbols are totally intuitive and understandable. The results (inclination angle) shown on the screen are correct
