NOTES.
1) If you try to open a large file, there will be delays in opening and scrolling.
The optimal file size depends on the type of file (text or binary) and device performance.
2) Binary files can be displayed with loss of information (some bytes of the file cannot be converted to text).
3) Limitations of the free version: 33 encodings are available. During the editing process, you can undo the last 20 changes.

It made the unforgivable bug: it lost data! Two hours of careful research and editing which I thought it was auto-saving (because there's no Save button), then I automatically hit the only highlighted button which I subconsciously thought was Save and it opened a new file! So I hit Back and it flashed up an error page asking if I want to Save -- yes! But it crashed and now only says "Restarting a session" even after a reboot and asking Android to close the app. Unsafe. Uninstalled.

Pretty Good! Used OCR to 2turn a long & noisy pic of a list of transactions in2 text, displayed it using this app, removed a lot of unneeded data using a physical keyboard and the old-fashioned "[SHIFT]+↓↓↓ [DEL] ↓ [SHIFT}+↓↓↓ [DEL]" pattern. It's very repetitive, so you just get into the pattern and keep repeating it. & you get to use the old kbd shortcut for UNDO when you goof, [CTRL]+Z! Taking what would B 1+ hrs & makes it 5 min! &used S&R tyD up & turn $→+. Paste in2 Calc=Total$! Froze once

It's well written, but too limited. You must use the bundled fonts; system fonts aren't available. There's no dark theme, unless you pay. (Android OS lets you choose a system-wide dark theme now, which most apps simply honor.) Undo is limited to the last 10 words—again, unless you pay. Sorry, but there are too many good, free editors to have to pay for such basic features.

Can open only 3 files at a time. Not mentioned in the description?)

WORKS GREAT ON MOTOROLA G PLAY BUT FREEZES ON GALAXY UPON SAVING THE FILE TO DIRECTORY IT COULD BE AN ISSUE OF SYSTEM COMPATIBILITY.

The paid version (SimpleEditor) is a worthwhile upgrade. Both versions are straightforward to work with.

Great app, just found out that the files I wanted to edit was not compatible, not sure why, but don't worry.

Nice, needs more features. Maybe combine with your other text editor 👍
