Compete for zones with friends and strangers in real life!In TURF there are lots of ZONES spread out around the world. You compete for these zones against others in order to play the game.
By going to a zone and standing within its boundaries, you will TAKE the zone from the owner and claim ownership. This will turn the zone green and give you income in the form of points.
Watch your competitors every move LIVE on the game map and choose your strategy accordingly.
Owning more zones will provide you with a higher income, while losing a zone to a competitor will reduce your income. There are three levels of top-lists (region/country/world) where you can see your current ranking.
The game is played in ROUNDS. Every round is one month long and ends on a sunday close to the start of a new month. At the end of a round, every zone is reset and points collected are zeroed in order to allow for a new start. Rewards are given to the best players, which are kept forever.
The game also includes events, medals, rankings and lots of statistical data to measure your performance and keep track of your adventures.
Start turfing now! Move those legs and let the adrenaline flow!

Great concept to get the kids interested in being outdoors/map reading etc but the app is really fussy about accuracy of the GPS position (spent 30 minutes on a rugby pitch hoping the little man icon would catch up with my true position). Worse than that it seems to require mobile data to actually take a zone. Walked two miles but I couldn't 'take' the zone because mobile reception wasn't good enough. Frustrating! However it did get my son walking the two miles so worth a try.

This is such a superb app and game. If you are at risk of being an addict then this is such a wonderful way to placate your addiction issues, lol. The fitness element is good if you walk or cycle to the zones, my competitive issues, (second place is first of the losers) is satiated by taking other people's zones and Turf is such a good way to see a new town or city. If I am going to another place in the UK I suss out the zones on the route and then plan at least 1 or 2 days to go turfing.❤

Great fun game/sport for keeping active and exploring your local area, or wherever you happen to be. Addictive once you get into it. It must be said that the user interface is not overly intuitive, so its worth reading the FAQ, forums, and talking to other Turf players. There are some great tools for analysis or your turfing, or planning your turf sessions. However many of these are actually third party sites. Odd, yes, but ok considering Turf is available free (unless you opt to support).

The concept of the app is great if you've got the lifestyle for it and live in the right area. Some countries have nearly no coverage and within countries that do, sometimes there are entire states that have zones so far apart you are forced to drive.

Great game of discovery in your local or new areas. For all ages and fitness levels-bike, run or walk. Great fun and can be competitive or just a way of adding extra fun to your exercise/stroll. You will discover new places of interest-even in your home town! Great fun-Try it!

I really enjoy this app, where it is available. It is a shame that the suggestion system is broken. I have tried many times to add sites in my home town but nothing! This makes the competitive element unfair. I can only play when away from home.

Has worked well for years but serious issues now with crashing and/or not opening and/or not connecting. Unsure if this is an app side issue or Samsung issue (S24 Ultra). All but unusable.

The reviews about it being specific to Norway weren't kidding. Literally every single person on the map when I opened the app is in Norway. Maybe if you were to make more locations other than in the biggest cities in the US and other countries, more people would play it. But for now, the closest "zone" to me is in St. Louis, MO. 2.5 hours south of me.
