How does Tees Flex work?
- Tees Flex is an on-demand travel concept that takes multiple passengers heading in the same direction and books them into a shared vehicle. Using the Tees Flex app, input your address and we’ll match you with a vehicle going your way. We’ll pick you up on a nearby corner and drop you off within a short walk of your chosen destination. Now for the clever bit; our algorithms provide journey times that are comparable to a taxi and much more convenient than other modes of travel, making bus travel easier than ever before!
How much does a Tees Flex journey cost?
Adult fares start from £1 (trips under 2 miles)
Under 19s benefit from half fares on all single trips!
Concessions travel FREE (subject to T&Cs*)
When can I travel?
- Tees Flex services are available from Monday to Saturday, 7am – 8pm.
How long will I wait?
- You'll always get an accurate estimate of your pick-up ETA before booking.
- You can also track your bus in real time using the app.
How many passengers will I share a vehicle with?
- The number of passengers you will share a journey with varies based on vehicle capacity and your chosen destination! Our premium vehicles can easily accommodate 16-17 people.

Tried this app several times to no avail, absolutely hopeless, and I believe that I am tech savvy. Eventually I have managed to download the app, as other reviewers have stated, it unreliable due to poor routing, inconsistent arrival and departure and stating the pickup point is half a mile away, when I have managed to use it, it's great, but the inconsistencies are annoying and for someone in their seventies it's unsafe.

Personally I think this an exceptional service, I have used Tees flex a few times now and I can't fault it. I would advise to use the schedule service and give roughly 4 hours notice or more rather than the instant booking as this usually says "too busy". The app could do with some adjustments IE show what booking you have made, but the notifications come through clear with details of the vehicle & times. Great way to travel in a relatively brand new mercedes. Private taxi for £3 🤷

The idea is great, when it works its quick and cheap. But it is not reliable, often early or late, sometimes the routing is direct, next it takes you 40m + for a 10 min journey which when it's late and you need to be on time is stressful. The app is awful, I book as far ahead as I can (30 journeys/ 2-3 weeks) often its already booked up, it won't show alternative times or routes, just app says no and kicks you out and you have to start again.

Awful booking, if I book a bus to take me somewhere 20 minutes away by, 3 o'clock, why on earth would I want to be picked up at 14:58? Usually this service is stellar, the drivers are class, it's inexpensive and it covers a good area, but the app time slots are confusing and ineffective, and my app doesn't work sometimes after drop off, choosing to show me an eta of 30 mins ago instead of allowing me to book a bus home.

I tried to switch the ap from my tablet to my phone, as I realised only my phone operates with data connection when out and about (tablet needs wifi). But there seems to be no way to delete yourself from the system, even after uninstalling the ap. Consequently when trying to register with my phone I get the "already an account with that number"message. So, on my first attempt to use this service, I cannot . So a dead loss really. Disappointed, I had an important use for it visiting a hospital.

Great idea, poorly executed. So poorly in fact that I've never used it. Yet I am in many ways a textbook user. I only travel by bus. Hard to get to hospitals. I have bus pass so it won't cost me. The ap can't answer any questions, like how long does it take (Essential for appointments) .The bus goes straight past my house but doesn't stop anywhere near so i may as well take the ten minute walk up the hill for the regular bus. There i can watch helplessly as the Teesflex whizzes by 95% empty.

Pre booked a bus two days before. All was well, even got a message saying when the bus was going to arrive. Got to the bus stop in time, only to recieve another message saying "Sorry, we do not have enough buses to fulfil your pre booked request", and instructing me to book on demand. Spent another 20 minutes trying to book another which wasn't in "High demand" (don't understand why, as they are usually half empty most of the time). Luckily I managed to get one just in time for work.

Always get a bus on this app, no issues at all, fantastic service for those of us who don't have access to any public transport! Please keep this service going as so many have been able to get jobs and have built lives for themselves due to this service.
