The Taipei Metro’s smartphone app “GO! Taipei Metro” has officially been launched, download it now!

The app provides a Taipei Metro route map, station exit information, transfer information and a journey planner. The interface launches on the Metro map, from where you can click into the station you wish to look up.

Any anomalies or incidents on the network will be published in real time by push notification under the “important notices” section.

You can also use Taipei Metro Go to look up the schedule for the next train, and whether there are any YouBike stations nearby; look up transfer parking or transfer buses; which exit has an elevator or escalator, and which exit only has stairs; you can even use it to calculate the fastest route to your destination, so that you can plan ahead and travel at ease and with great convenience.

Since the last (or second to last, it's been like this for a few months already) update, the app has become very slow on my device (Galaxy A21s) and can take up.to 30s to start. Also, the live MRT arrival timetable is very unreliable now, times are often wrong and they stop updating after the first refresh. Opening the map also takes ages. I've already reinstalled the app, to no avail. I hope this can be fixed in the next version, it worked very well before.

This app is an appalling waste of time. Maybe it's because it's the English language version, but it is extraordinarily slow on wifi and data, expecting excruciating wait times for the most minor of changes to inputs. It hen just times out, gives a black screen, and sometimes finally responds, but mostly does nothing. For such an efficient country like Taiwan, I'm astonished it is so poor compared to the equivalents in recent ones I've used in Japan, France, Spain, Portugal and Italy.

Apps feels like an amateur app. Slow, ugly, and redeem promo coupon function works terribly. Everytime have to reenter the long promo code and when I exit the app you have to reenter the code everytime even though it recognizes you've entered the promo code it will just say error. Also can't seem to scan the QR code to redeem the code so have to manually enter it everytime.

Incomplete route map, which is just sad, considering this is the offical app. Terrible UI/UX experience compared to other third party MRT map apps. Very sluggish, even on a recent higher-end phone.

I've been waiting for this app to run smoothly for years. Every version runs slow, crashes, etc.

I don't understand how such a great metro system can't have someone develop an app that works properly. For years now I try to avoid using this app because it's so cumbersome.
