Loved the old version, which was quick and easy to use, gave a clear view of everything entered and nutritional analysis and helped me to eat better. The new version is, unfortunately, terrible. Yes, it's still free, but so slow to do anything. You have to wait between adding every single item, then have to scroll backwards and forwards or up and down to see what you want. While there are some pretty new features, their addition does not offset the downsides. Go back to the simple version!

The database is fantastic. Australian focus and good scanning. However, this new update is bloated. I'm running a Galaxy S23, and my device is having a hard time. Add in foods, and they won't show only to have it appear next time the app opens. Im assuming that either the app is horrendously slow after a single update or more likely the data is being shifted off of my device and stored on the cloud (also known as somebody elses computer) Absurd, the IOS version does not have a problem.

The updated Easy Diet Diary, which was updated without me asking (possibly a phone software update) is terrible. Very slow on my phone, doesn't 'add' when pressed several times, and then - nothing listed! Says I haven't added in a while - that's because it kept spinning and wouldn't log in! I left it running to try to log in twice, for hours, before it did. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Give me the old one back.

Edit: The new update is not half as fast. There's far too much waiting between every button press as it loads something from either a slower local database, or the internet, with more demanding graphics. All the features you need and want, completely free. This is the app you should use unless you hate having money. You will have to do your own data entry more often and the interface is a bit bland, but your data will actually be correct, you can adjust it yourself, and the app runs smoothly.

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?? This once brilliant app has suddenly changed and I can't even open it. It's just sitting there spinning away and has been for ages. Who was the bright spark that wrecked it? Why was it changed when it worked perfectly before? Thanks a lot for ruining a great app. EDIT: it finally loaded, I had to recreate my account, add my foods again and it is a much worse interface. Clumsy and slow. Really disappointed that the convenience of the old app has gone. Might delete. Unusable.

We have used Easy Diet Diary for four years, since our youngest was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, and it has been a great resource for us to get the carbs right at mealtimes. But the latest major update means we now have to log in every time we start it up (on any of the three different phones we use it on), and it can take an age (e.g. a minute or more) to open - annoying when you finish cooking something complicated for dinner and just want to start eating 😢

A new version of the app has been introduced without warning or notification and created a difficult login problem for me. In resolving the problem via email I've managed to again login, and view all the data I thought was totally lost by not being about to open the app. It's been a great help as an app - I lost 16 kg in 16 weeks by counting calories and fasting 16/8. I highly recommend the app (if it's now as good or better than the original version). I also hope it adds more products.THANK YOU

As of the current update, i can no longer recommend this app. The app is sluggish. It takes so long input anything in. The My foods and my recipes tabs are no longer in alphabetical order, making it harder to find my pre made foods. The top 4 results in the My Food and Recipes tabs have been replaced with "recent foods" adding to the confusion. Either fix these issues or just backdate the app to the old version. There was nothing wrong with it
