Even though this app is made for Canadian private fixed and rotary wing pilots, it can help a remotely piloted aircraft (VLOS) owner to study for the RPAS. Drone pilots will need additional info about rules for unmanned aircraft systems not covered in the PSTAR app.
The app allows you to go through each section separately and answer question by question. You will be able to see the correct answer right away and don´t have to wait until the end to see the final score. We think that way you will learn much quicker. Once you feel competent you can start trying some of the exams. When you score consistently more than 90% you should be well prepared for the real exam!
This is also an excellent tool to study Air Law for your PPL and CPL flight training.
Before a student pilot in Canada can go for his/her first solo flight, the Transport Canada PSTAR (Pre-Solo Test about Air Regulations) exam has to be completed. It is an exam about Air Regulation. This app has all 185 questions in the database which are taken from the official Transport Canada Study Guide, TP11919. The PSTAR prep app will be updated regularly to ensure the most current questions.
The PSTAR exam you will take at your Flight School consists of 50 questions taken from the pool of these 185. If you study with this app a couple of evenings a week you should have no problem scoring a good grade. The minimum pass rate is 90%. Use your time more efficiently and study for your PSTAR exam on the go and pass with ease.
Good luck with your PSTAR exam and many happy landings!

a great app and has helped me immensely to prepare for my PSTAR. the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because one of the options for a question under Collision Avoidance has an answer in Arabic(which happens to be the correct answer) and once I go to my home screen and get back on the PSTAR app all the options change to French and I have to close the app and lose my progress.

I'm quite happy. Yes, u do have to pay 6 bucks, but it's worth it. If you're on the go and need to keep refreshing ur memory, it works. But I do wish there were also ppl radio quizzes as well cause that's so very important instead of the hand book to read.

What you would expect. It's good to have and practice off of. Over all a good app. I'm just unsure if it's worth the money. All questions and answers are free on Transport Canada website. This is just mildly more convenient. With that being said, it's still cheaper then buying the books.

Best app for Android for studying the PSTAR exam. Me and a group of my colleagues use the app on and off preping for the exam. Staff of app is really friendly and quick to fix a problem. If you want to be a pilot, I couldn't recommend it any more. Updated: Passed 100% just after 2 days studying.

This, along with Robyn's guide (for in depth explanations) are the only things you'll need for writing the PSTAR. Fantastic app. I want to give 5 stars to the customer service as well. I bought the app before they made it freemium. I emailed them explaining the situation and proof that I had purchased the app previously and they responded with a full access code within half an hour. Thank you for the prompt response!

Amazing app, definitely worth the money. Currently studying for my PPL and this app has been incredibly helpful. Instead of flipping through hundreds of pages in the AIM, Ground school notes, training manuals or text books, this app makes every category a breeze! Will be recommending it to every student I meet. 10/10

Very clean and efficient layout. I like that there are references listed. The only suggestion is to have an audio element that can read the questions and answers while in the car or at home.
