I've used Aldiko ever since my first android phone over a decade ago. Turns out the only then keeping me on this app is being too lazy to switch. Well, good job, the experience has finally degraded to the point where I'm motivated enough to find a replacement. Features are missing. Everything is laggier and slower. Swap to a different app to answer a message and the book is closed when i swap back, have to open it again, while lagging.

I do not like the upgrade. It doesn't have the slider button to move progress along manually, you have to go to a menu for it, and you have to know the exact page that you're looking for. I also hate that the books are now displayed like the Kindle and you have to swipe to get to your other books. The easy access to the bookmark is also something that I miss from the old app. I went back to the Aldiko Classic, even though it keeps telling me it is not tailored to the new version of Android.

It worked at the beginning but now I only see a blank page. I borrowed a book from Open Library but I am unabled to read it. It loads very slow, then tapping on the screen or changing to landscape doesn't make any difference. Very frustrating since it is the only reader I seem to be allowed to use to download the borrowed books.

I love the clean look! Please add the option to select multiple books to add them to a single collection, It's a little tedious having to select one book at a time. A little confusing with the vertical scroll, as well, it isn't really continuous when encountering illustrations and chapters, sometimes I'll accidentally swipe left or right, and I'd have to scroll back down to return reading. Hoping for a fully continuous scrolling feature and a return on the last read section on accidental swipes.

Just downloaded the app. So far it's working beyond my expectations. Interface is easy to navigate and not complicated. Thank you! Edit: doesn't load some of the pages. Edit 2: it just shows blank spaces now. Edit 3: showed blank spaces on 1 book, realized it's the same for every book. If fixed I will change my rating but for now it sucks.

This is one of the few eBook readers that utilizes Readium to display EPUB files. However, it has a couple of notable issues: 1. There's a bug in the text-to-speech (TTS) feature when used with EPUBs that include their own media narration. Instead of utilizing the embedded narration, it defaults to Google TTS. 2. In scroll mode, even a slight touch to the left or right of the screen causes an unwanted section change, which can be frustrating as it disrupts the reading position.

I had originally given them 5 stars. Now they only one. I’ve been using Aldiko for two years, read tons of books through it. But recently, they completely overhauled the app, changed the look, the name, everything. And in the process, they wiped out all my books. Every single one, gone from my phone’s storage. No backup, nothing left. I’ll never trust this app again. My advice: do NOT download this app. Delete it immediately before it does the same to you.

Since the last update aldiko gave issues so migrated to this new app. Reading colors are finally fixed. But page turn is horrible. First tap, show android notification bar (specially annoying at night) second tap shows app menu. Thirth tap finally go to the next page. Please allow gently swipe as it was in the old app. For now I use the volume button, but it is not relaxed reading.
