Revising my original 4 to a 2 because update is stupid. Lost a lock in a storm, keypad died. Replaced with new. New lock refuses to pair with more than one Android phone. Adding locks to Home scrambles lock lanes and locations - "Side door" ends up as front or garage, etc. PITA to resort/rename. Can't add user to a home to share access, so seems rather useless.

Not a great experience. Notifications work well. Lock management screens are poorly designed. App constantly gets stuck on screens to add WiFi networks and lock delete screens. also, it's impossible to update firmware on Schlage Encode locks (I have 2 of them), be it on Wi-Fi or over Bluetooth, as suggested in some online discussions. I've been patiently waiting for an app update over the last two years to correct these basic issues, yet the issues persist.

The app itself works okay on its own however, since the most recent update, it no longer consistently works with Google home. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. This is very disappointing as I have used it for the last couple of years with my locks and have had no issue. Please fix this last update debacle!

Notifications are very slow. Several minutes after the door is unlocked or locked. That doesn't make us feel very secure. But It was at least easy to see if your for is locked or unlocked in the app. A recent update changed it so that in the app, there is an itsy-bitsy little lock that is either green or blue. We couldn't tell whether that means it is open or locked. At least if it was green and red, that would make sense.

Have had the lock for years and it worked fairly well. Latest update is planned obsoleteness for sure. Very delayed or phantom notifications, constant drop outs/failures with wifi connection, drains batteries 1000x faster. New UI isn't as good either. Please bring back the old version.

Maybe it's just useless to me because I'm not the "owner". There are 2 people here, we both need access. All I was able to do was lock/unlock 2/3 of our locks and only using Bluetooth. If I could at least see what the possible options are and "grey" them out, then I could walk the "owner" through making it usable to the other person living in the house. When I used the Bluetooth to lock/unlock the 2 locks I could, it worked and was easy to pair

Android with the latest OS (One UI 7.0, Android 15) and the Schlage Home app crashes as soon as it launches the splash screen... $260 lock with junk software. I contacted Schlage Tech support, and they said that without an error code, they couldn't help me and blamed the issue on my phone. It's the only app on my phone that doesn't work - it's not the phone - it's your app. Their tech support is as worthless as their app. Don't bother with Schlage. If you have any problems, you're on your own.

Once you get it synched with your network, it works very well. For my network, I needed to switch the router to operate only at 2.4 MGHz until I could connect the lock. After 30 minutes, the router switches back to 5.0 MGHz, but the lock stays connected. Programming the lock for additional users (for example, renters, other vendors like cleaning staff or appliance repair workers) is quite simple and easily modified--much easier than competing products from Yale. The Schlage Encode is a great!
