Welcome to MyCatch by Angler’s Atlas - a fishing app to record your catches, participate in fishing events or just track your stats. You can explore thousands of fishing destinations through the app, and keep track of every fish caught. For the competitive anglers, our fishing events give you a chance to fish for prizes AND contribute to fisheries science.MyCatch was first released in 2018 as a way for anglers to track their catches and at the same time help fisheries biologists by providing important catch data. Since the launch, MyCatch anglers have worked with dozens of university researchers across Canada and the United States, helping address important questions and gaps in fisheries science. To see some examples of these projects, please visit our website at www.anglersatlas.com/research.
From a conservation standpoint, MyCatch has developed efficient catch reporting tools so anglers can quickly record their catch and get the fish back into the water in less than a minute. This approach is referred to as Catch-Photo-Release and are hallmarks of the event series available on the app.
“Our promise to anglers is that Secret Spots Stay Secret,” says Sean Simmons, Founder and President of Angler’s Atlas and MyCatch. “Our research partners sign data sharing agreements that protect the privacy and location of our anglers, while providing fisheries biologists with the critical data they need to study our fisheries.”
For anglers, the app also provides useful statistics to keep track of catches, such as the number of fish caught, catch rate, species and specific details around each catch.
My Catch is produced by Angler’s Atlas, an online platform that has catalogued hundreds of thousands of waterbodies, and helps anglers explore lakes, rivers and oceans with detailed maps, tips and local fishing information.

Great app for logging catches and trips, except I keep running into a bug where any time I try to download a waterbody's information, it glitches, says "download failed," and then never shows the waterbody as a viewable option anymore. It'll still pop up in the search bar, I click on it, it takes me to the right spot on the map, but the waypoint dot that allows you to select the waterbody isn't there, which prevents me from getting any information from it, whether I'm offline or online

The app runs smoothly enough and in terms of a straightforward fishing log, it's one of the better ones. However, it should really include the option to document weather data, i.e solunar, barometric pressure, wind, etc. And be able to analyze trends. This feature is missing from most of the fishing log apps out there.

A good app for finding fishable water with useful links to regulations. But after the last update all of the freshwater lakes near me (lower mainland BC) show as being stocked with salt water fish. Also, when downloading additional maps of a lake the app doesn't recognize any of the PDF reading apps installed on my phone so I can't view them. EDIT: developer has fixed these issues.

Really nice well thought out app. Sent developer feedback on suggestions to improve...including...trophy catch feature, fish recognition feature (see fish brain app), log catches by multiple anglers (I rarely fish alone and want to track my catches as well as my friends catches so on a trip I can enter who came with me and what each of us caught), better reporting on who's caught what and more customizable features. Hoping for some changes SOON!

not getting better, compared to the web site details, it is not really worth it except to track things. need to add filters to the app for hotspots shared, as well there are links to the regs? I could not find it., only general provincial regs, not species limits.

The latest version of this app for Android just does not work well. You can not easily enter a new trip without it the entry freezing up. You can enter species, date, but location will not register. This app has so much potential but the crashes are becoming frustrating.

Great logging app! Please add a feature that allows you to catalog commonly used lures/baits with a name, description and picture so that you can quickly assign them to new catches, thanks! P.S. and let us edit live tracking logs

Very user friendly! recently used the app for a tournament and had a login issue with showing up as entered. The team was very quick in responding to the issues and had them rectified immediately
