Why Color Temperature Matters in Photography
Understanding color temperatures is crucial for achieving accurate colors in photography. While Automatic White Balance (AWB) helps, manual settings often yield better results. Use this app to measure color temperatures and set your white balance accurately for stunning photos.

Accuracy
To ensure the best possible accuracy, this app uses a common white paper or a grey card to measure color temperature (CT, correlated color temperature, CCT). Just make sure the paper is lit by the light source you are measuring and avoid any color casts. While usually not necessary, calibration can further enhance accuracy.

Free for a Limited Time
Enjoy full functionality for a few weeks. After that, choose a one-time fee or subscription — still at a fraction of the cost of a dedicated device.

Readings somewhat hard to reproduce with accuracy, even after calibration. The biggest problem I have with this app, however, is the dark-on-dark theme, which makes it almost impossible to read unless you push the screen brightness to the maximum (black on white is healthier for the eyes). Minor issues: the app doesn't follow the Android design rules and is confusing to navigate, and the menu is very chaotic. Recommend to review the theme and the overall design to improve practicality and UX.

Useful with nice interface. I wish the save button was towards the bottom and in the middle. I find myself covering up the camera with my hand when trying to use the save button.

Good luck if you can get this to work. I have latest Google Pixel 8 pro, which has a good sensor. Clearly you need to calibrate this software. As a professional technical photographer for over 35 years, I have a lot of quality, calibrated lights. I repeatedly calibrated the software to midday daylight, using white paper, then did the same again in studio with both daylight and tungsten lights, with known colour balance. At this stage, the calibration should have been bang-on: sadly wildly off.

A great little app, clearly a lot of work has been injected into it, by someone who understands exactly what photographers need. This app is very convenient, and very accurate ( on my device ) if you need to appy correction there is a matix for this. Simple intuitive display. ( Nice bonus, it includes a Hue Meter and correction Gel suggestions ) Pretty much replaces the need to carry a dedicated meter 🤗.

Priceless app. It just works that is really all I can say. For photography and video, this is great for setting the white balance manually. Especially in video. It is so quick and easy to use to get you the white balance. You need to have good consistent video that doesn't need adjustment after. Just bought the app because it's a lot cheaper than buying a color light meter.

A nicely made app. Lots of work has gone into it. It's not perfect yet but it'll get there I'm sure. Mine struggles weirdly under trees sometimes but dev knows about it.

It is functioning in strange ways. Says an incandescent lamp has color temperature ~3500k, multiple led sources rated as 4000k are reported as having 4600-4900k. Found camera app in pro mode is much more precise (wb detect) than this dedicated app using the same camera lol. Used it once and now it says my free period is over andI should pay to use trial period?? Yeah, it could possibly be calibrated...
