App description

Android App Analysis and Review: BatteryBot Pro, Developed by Darshan Computing, LLC. Listed in Tools Category. Current Version Is v6q, Updated On 01/12/2021 . According to users reviews on Google Play: BatteryBot Pro. Achieved Over 111 thousand Installs. BatteryBot Pro Currently Has 6 thousand Reviews, Average Rating 4.4 Stars

BatteryBot Battery Indicator is the original battery indicator app for Android™, released in 2009 as simply "Battery Indicator." Both the free and the Pro versions have maintained a 4.5+ star rating in Google Play from the beginning. It offers two modes: the original status bar indicator and now also a desktop widget. You can use either or both, as you please.

BatteryBot monitors and shows your battery charge level (percent) as an icon in your status bar, with how much time you have left, temperature, health, voltage, and time since plugged / unplugged in the notification area. It now also has a 1x1 app widget. The Pro version also has user-configurable alarms, logs, mA current information, and a large (4x1) widget.

Give it a try -- it's an excellent and complete solution to your battery needs.

Features:

• No ads (why would you want a battery app with ads?)
• Exact battery level in the task bar
• Or hide the task bar icon, keeping notification in tray — or turn notification off completely and just use widgets
• Multiple icon set options
• Automatic time-remaining estimates based on recent usage
• Small (1x1) circle desktop widget
• Very lightweight (please email me if you think otherwise, and I'll help you figure out what's wrong — I promise this app will not drain your battery!)
• Well-tested and supported on all major versions of Android (4.1 through 8.0; Jelly Bean through Oreo) and form factors (small phones, medium phones, large phones, 7-inch tablets, 10-inch tablets).
• Open source

For those who want more than is offered in the free version, or for those who just like to support small, independent developers like me, the Pro version remains lightweight while packing in many useful features:

Pro-only Features:

• Alarms (fully charged, charge above X, charge below X, temperature above X, or health failure)
• (On devices that allow it — Note that most devices on Lollipop and up, 5.0+, do not, so this is mostly only for old devices) Icon colors (including fully configurable green, amber, red, and black icons)
• (On most devices) Electric current (mA / milliamp /milliampere) reading to/from battery on supported devices
• Large (4x1) desktop widget
• Battery logging. You can log the battery state (charge, status, voltage, temperature) and browse the logs on the phone or export to CSV.
• Control the notification priority on Android 4.1+ (For example, you can set to "minimum" to hide the icon but keep the notification in the tray.)
• Lots of configurability of behavior and appearance.
• The charging indicator (the bolt under the number that indicates when the device is being charged) for the sets that have it is optional in the Pro version.

Here's the BatteryBot business model / philosophy:

1) Ads are annoying. For some apps, ads might make sense, but a system utility should not have ads.

2) The free version should be simple but useful; it shouldn't feel crippled.

3) Some people choose to purchase the Pro version because they want extra features, some because they want more customization, and many because they just want to say "thanks" for the free version and support small, independent developers like myself.

What's New

• Made time diffs in logs more human friendly
• Added option to show seconds in timestamps in logs
• Not Charging no longer treated as Unknown in logs
• Changed how CSV file is exported to be compatible with Android 11. Allows user to select save location, removal of the WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission.
• Modified layout and sizing of elements on main screen: more flexible and better supports modern tall screens
• Updated build tools, support libraries
• Target/compile for API level 30

Edit: Great app, the only thing I wish it had were alarms that could be set at 1 2 3 or 4 % remaining! Does what any smart phone should really do on its own. I decided to get paid version on any app I use for over 6 months, this one has worked flawlessly for longer than that. Plus the different colored icons are a nice bonus. Costs too much? Are you serious? This is less than a large soft drink at McDonald's but it lasts a lot longer! Did you ever try to write an app? Not so easy.

I'm using galaxy S10+. I have set the alarm for full charge. In my old phone, I had the option to select long alarm tunes from the list as notification. The app on this phone allows me to select only notification tunes (not long alarm tunes). So it's hard to tell if I've received a message or a full charge alarm. When the purpose of setting the full charge alarm is to know from far away if the battery has charged fully and disconnect he charger, the current limitation ruins the whole idea.

The alarms work well so the Pro version is worth having. What would REALLY make a difference would be to get the app to control when charging stops, rather than just an alarm. Current thinking is that it's better to stop charging after level reaches around 85% as that means the battery will survive up to 100,000 charging cycles. Okay, if you need the full capacity on a particular day, charge it to 100%, but generally not neccessary, particularly when modern phones charge wire quickly.

It does what it says on the tin, for sure. And I love that it uses this fast and simple old-school interface. However, I really wish I could have more fine grain control of what percentage the alarms trigger at. I want to set alarms at 1%, 2%, 79%, etc. Please just make that a slider that covers 0-100 in increments of 1, and with plus and minus nudge buttons to get it exact.

Awesome app! For years I had used Battery Log to track my battery temperature and charge level. Unfortunately, that hasn't been updated from targetSdk 19, making notification control near impossible. Enter this app - all the features I desired, a much better ongoing notification (using notification channels, so I can minimize it!), lightweight, ad-free… I tried it on F-Droid then turned here to buy it to give support. I only miss the graph view in Battery Log and the more compact table.

Latest update has brpken the app. No percentage icon showing in top left hand side of phone. However, when the notification area is expanded battery bot shows up with just the percentage figure. To see the two lines of content you have to click on the down arrow.System default colour seems to think that it is white whereas it used to be black!! I have an htc 10 with android 8.0.0. Please fix.

After trying almost every battery widget and app on the play store and being bombarded with ads, I found this app! By far the best battery monitoring app and widget out there. It also includes multiple alarm types like an alert to let you know when the battery drops below _____% or an alery to let you know when the battery is fully charged. I do wish you could run multiple alerts at once though. Bonus that it is FOSS. Great app! Additional developer donation coming your way 😁

Excellent. 🙂 But before upgrading to pro, I had the standard version, and it was black, had dark interface. So do all the MISLEADING images of the pro on the product page, too. But on my three Android devices, the pro is WHITE, too bright. There is no setting to switch to dark mode. Why is this? 😟 I really NEED the DARK interface. What can I do? Thank you so much. 🙂 🙂 Edit: I've written the developer. No reply. The shiningly bright, white colours make this PAID app unusable for me. 😟 😡 😢
