ABOUT PREDICTIONS
Predictions are based on the harmonic method, using constants from the Hydro offices (UKHO, SHOM, NOAA, BOM, CHS etc). There are differences between the app predictions and the official Hydro office tide tables, as these are based on large numbers of constants that are not made publicly available. The Hydro offices consider the harmonic methods used in this product appropriate for navigation.
Always consult tidal curves and take into account local weather (pressure and wind) and swell conditions, which can have a very significant effect on sea water levels.

Buggy and confusing. I seem to have paid for tidal atlas rather than tides. I've also had a number of error messages including the famous "object reference not set to an instance of the object" which signifies a coding error. I've only been using it an hour. Get Absolute Tides instead - cheap and simple (but UK only).

I have purchased the licence for tides for 2024, but the app refuses to acknowledge this and will not let me get tides. Yet when I go to the app extension page, there is a check next to 2024 indicating that it is purchased. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it, but no joy. I need this facility for work. It's very annoying. This app has worked seamlessly over the past couple of years. So after a couple of emails back and forth, Imray very kindly fixed the problem by giving me a gift of 2025 tides.

Does not show the double high for Cowes IoW area, therefore it's hard to tell when the real second high tide is, therefore when the current is really going to turn. Also, whilst it shows (apparently) tidal heights at all times of the day, and which I had believed, it is purely sinusoidal applied to the tide times, ie is a pure sin wave, very regular, rather than fact. This app has been useful for getting some ideas of tide times, especially when planning ahead during the year.

Would be 5 stars except that you can only rely on it when set to UT/GMT. Summer time works for their standard ports, but custom ports only work in UT. In summer time (+1 hour in UK, for example) the app takes the BST tide time from the standard port and adds another hour adjustment - so applying a summer time adjustment twice. The result in UK is your port will be wrong by 1 hour. I did write to Imray 1 year ago, bit they haven't fixed it. The rest of the app is great.

I've found this app v useful for predictions, although there are some anomalies; for instance there are two locations seemingly for the same thing; 'London Bridge' and 'LONDON BRIDGE (TOWER PIER). They do not give the same times. I've changed the overall setting to BST; the correct one is the 'TOWER PIER' one, but the other 'London Bridge' does not give BST. It looks like it's a duplicate that isn't needed and it doesn't work properly- it has the 'BST bug' already mentioned maybe. Remove it?

Just doesn't seem to work. No help or guidance setting up the app ( which used to work well). 11/05/20 update Tried it again and it is working. Good tide chart for today, but doesn't seem to show 7 days like other free apps. Extensions are available but it isn't clear what you get for each different option; several seem similar. A link to a webpage with more information is all it would take, generating less overhead when updating the app.

HW Times are incorrect during BST so all UK presentations are wrong. Looking back I see lots of complaints about inaccurate predictions, my significant errors are part of a pattern of rubbish data which very obviously hasn't been checked. As the data is wrong then the presentations are fiction. Imray are aware but have not bothered to fix it. If you need good data for passage planning this is not the source for you.

Deeply disappointed with the app purchase of additional tide tables. It is sold as an annual subscription but does not give you the years tide tables, just the current month. I consider this to be downright deceptive and an appalling practice. I'm so disappointed that I will cease using the app and find an alternative, giving up on the money I've been conned out of. I expected better from Imray.
