Despite exiting from the app, the app is still running in the background, thus heavily draining the battery fast. I have to force stop it, and activate it again when i intend to view again, causing me inconvenience. The previous model is better as i do not have such battery draining issue. Pls either resolve this issue, and i will give a better rating, or point me to a better, compatible app.

The app won't connect to my DVR. It says it's connected, but all of my video feeds are blank. I emailed the devs and will update this review if they can come up with a solution. UPDATE I got the app connected on my own, no thanks to the devs who never responded to my email. I'm raising the rating to 2 stars because it works, but it's still pretty awful. It eats up a TON of battery power, even after I close the app. I have to go into the app info and force stop it to stop the battery drain. It won't work without permission to access my phone's camera, location, and microphone. It shouldn't need any of those to work. It's not very secure. A feed from someone else's camera showed up in my husband's app once. It makes me wonder who can see our cameras. The help menu provides instructions on how to use the app, but no troubleshooting options. There's no one to contact to tell about all the issues I'm having. If there was any other app that worked with my DVR, you can bet I'd drop this one in a second. SECOND UPDATE: I can no longer record pictures or video from the app. The help menu for playback has screenshots from a totally different app and there's still no way to request actual help. I'm lowering the rating again.

App works to view cameras and play back recorded footage from XVim DVR both on and off local network. But, every time you close out the app and go back in, you have to delete and re-add your device in order not to get an authentication error. User interface is not very well designed either. But overall, it does work if you can deal with a little frustration. Beware though, as my phone flagged the app as malware.

I own 3 flawless routers and i know how to setup most all types of networking but there is in fact something wrong with either the DVR or this APP... I was able to connect outside the local network for just a couple days and now i get no connection. I've tried every troubleshoot known within networking to no avail. looks like i'm not the only one with this same issue either. Please fix!

When in play back trying to view video it stops working. Have to start over again to view it. It only lets you view for a bit and stops. Plus my phone says the app has a virus. Is there another app I can use cause lots of bugs on this. I have another camera Wyze and I can view with no problem fast forward, stop, rewind and play never stops of freeze.

Works well BUT guzzles power. It was easy to set up and I managed to get it all working with ease. I agree with other reviewers that it's odd that the app insists on having access to phone and other permissions. I like it but the power draining issue is a big problem for me.

Everything worked great for the first year on my Galaxy S8. But with the recent update it crashes with in 25 seconds of opening. Please fix this, it's a great app but it's very annoying. Also a great addition would be to have the app compatible with google home.

At the beginning, it was not functional from internet connections outside home. Serious problems occur after every update. After a short time of comfortable performance, the application started crashing with every time I start it up on my Samsung Note8. More over, it keeps opening by itself even after shutting it off.They don't respond to emails and feedbacks. Unfortunately it is the only application linked to my CCTV DVR.
