The Ontario Federation of Trail Riders (OFTR) brings an enhanced version of its web application to your pockets, making for a better riding experience than ever. Working both with and WITHOUT mobile data coverage, you will be able to enjoy the app’s functionalities no matter where you are on the trails.
This app gives you access to the following *OFFLINE* features, anywhere, anytime, even in areas without cell coverage:
► See your location on the map through your phone’s GPS signal
► View nearby restaurants, gas stations, hotels, parking, and other services
► Access the trails conditions as per the last data connection available
► See the distance between you and a specific point
► Quickly save and load itineraries

Notes:
►Continued use of the GPS and location sharing running in the background can significantly increase battery consumption. It is recommended to toggle it off when not needed to improve autonomy.
A valid license is required to authenticate yourself on Ride OFTR. This permit is issued by the federation and an account will be created upon purchase.

Thankfully it didn't happen while riding, but app will not even open after loaded for about a day. My vacation is over atm, but I can't load or reference trails via the app. Trails were marked in app according to skill level, and terrain and their marked skill levels were accurately matched. An expert trail is genuinely best left for highly skilled riders

Good, but a couple of improvements would make it excellent. Give the option to show the satellite map view like in the webpage map system, Also allow us to save a route on the website system where it's easier to create them, and have the routes available in the app. Edit: Update after using for 2021: Noticed that the app crashed or failed to load when using device in an area where there is no Data Signal. Also noticed app would not load until you got back to a Data Signal. Luckily I always use a real GPS system as a backup which saved us when riding in remote locations (ie. 5 Points ssystem)

logs out if closed, sometimes login prompt pops up while navigating. many options given a menu item then when pressed, a pop up says that option isn't available in the app -why not remove the whole option? loading takes a long time. even though it should be usable offline, due to login problems, all that functionality doesn't work.

Decent app, but it's not feature complete with the web version. - Trail information does not show up as it does in the web version. It only says "no information available" even for trails that have informational data in the web version - Recurring error message of unable to fetch trail statuses. Maybe an API connection is broken - Web version has federated Google login through Auth0, this does not have the option

I absolutely love this app! My favorite features are the Record and Share My Location options. Easy to use and clear map. Wish there was a navigate feature so I don't have to google map the locations

Edit: they fixed the crashing issue on previous update - yay! Doesnt work, just crashes during opening. Newest version apparently supposed to fix this. New member, have no idea if prior versions will work.

This app is easy to use. I sometimes find that the location of the trails as shown on the map does not match the actual location of the trails, but its close enough that I can figure out where I am and how to get to my next trail.

Good app, nice to have all the trails available. Track recording consumes battery too fast. In 2 hours it used 75% of my cell phone battery. My GPS app uses about 30% battery in 4 to 5 hours of recording.
