Join the millions of medical professionals who use MDCalc daily to support clinical decision making at the bedside. Since 2005, MDCalc has been the leading medical reference for the most relevant, up-to-date and widely-used clinical calculators that support evidence-based patient care. Registration is free and takes less than 30 seconds for full, unlimited access.

MDCalc clinical decision support is created exclusively by board-certified physicians for use by physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and medical students. The simple yet sleek app provides access to 550+ easy-to-use clinical decision tools including risk scores, algorithms, equations, formulas, classifications, dosing calculators, and more.

With a new enhancement, clinicians can now earn AMA PRA Category 1TM CME credits by simply reading the clinical content for 150+ calculators. The app will keep track of the CME credits earned in a personal dashboard, where users can also redeem credits for certificates and access their receipts for easy documentation. In order to redeem CME credits, users will need to sign up for a paid CME plan.

Unique features, ideal for the busy practicing clinician:
• Works offline and in limited connection settings. (CME tracking requires a connection.)
• Fast and easy search and filter to discover new calculators.
• Customizable lists for quick access: favorites, recently used, your specialty.
• Auto-syncing between the website and app.
• Quick toggle between US and SI units.
• Error warnings and normal values to help avoid mistakes and improper inputs.

Our exclusive “MDCalc Method” for selecting tools - including in-depth appraisal and validation of evidence AND clinical relevance - results in only the highest-quality tools to help you make better decisions and be more efficient in your workflow. And our network of academic and practicing physician experts create easy-to-digest content to reinforce decision making and support training:
• Insights and advice from the EBM creators (e.g. Dr. Phil Wells’ on the Wells’ Criteria).
• Expert content by specialists on use cases, pearls & pitfalls, results interpretation and more.
• Synopses of the evidence from the original and validation research.

From iMedicalApps in 2016: “The evidence based medicine (EBM) components of the medical app are what really set MDCalc apart from its peers... The MDCalc app gives brief summaries of the critical studies concerning the medical calculator, links to the studies on PubMed as well as “pearls/pitfalls”, “next steps” and expert commentary from the authors of the calculators.” - iMedicalApps “MDCalc app, the best online medical calculator is now an app”

MDCalc clinical decision tools support 35+ specialties including cardiology, critical care/ICU, emergency medicine, endocrinology, gastroenterology, hematology, hepatology, infectious disease, internal medicine, nephrology, neurology, obstetrics, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics, primary care, psychiatry, pulmonology, surgery, urology, and more! Update 10/8/24: This update is exactly what I was hoping for! Finally the app opens quickly instead of buffering for 2 minutes, and loads the scores within milliseconds instead of 5min! I've been just using the computer this whole time because of all the lags. Thank you so much for fixing this precious app!

UPDATE 10/26/24: the app opens up quickly now! Calculators are also accessed easily. Good job on fixing the bugs! 🙌 ----- [OLD REVIEW] The beta version takes a really long time to open up. One time I waited 10mins and it didn't even work then. I reinstalled the app, and while it opens up better now, it still takes around 30secs or so, not instantly

Very nice app, love the extensive up to date cakcukators. But I wish it had unit conversion calculator I had medcalc on iPhone which had that - great when reading an article that has glucose it cholesterol levels only reported in the other units. And even doing length or temperature conversions.

Of late, the app, which was previously unparalleled, has become unusable. I'm lucky to get it to load, much less actually access the calculator I want. I've been let down on many a Ward Round of late: couldn't quote the patient's Creatinine clearance; had to leave calcium uncorrected, etc. Need this app to get back on its A game.

You're forced to make an account, seems unnecessary, but ok. This process is then made as difficult as possible by having the country of practice list in a completely random order. It's not sorted alphabetically, not even sorted by continent. Same with specialties, there's no order to it. App works fine, has an incredible amount of calculators. Specialty specific lists seems irrelevant, they're very extensive lists, but then YEARS isn't in EM for example.

New update has my one of my go-to medical apps unusable. Very slow to load, feels cluncky to navigate, text and buttons not aligned properly and sometimes sitting offscreen. Explore page feels cluttered and difficult to navigate. Was far nicer being able to explore by speciality. Older version was not broken so why try to fix it?

Has never been the same or as good since it was updated. I rely on the app in the emergency department where it has to be fast and not dependent on phone signal. Ever since the update, it is slow and buggy and functions even more poorly when offline. Worked perfectly previously!

This is really an amazing body of work. As a Field Provider (Paramedic), a good "chunk" of this probably is meaningless to the new Medic who just needs something "fast and now," but to someone like me, three-decades in, I really appreciate being able to dig further into more advanced scores and assessment tools for my Critical Care transports. Thank you again for this work that you have done!
