Kanji Study aims to be a helpful and easy-to-use tool for learning Japanese kanji. The app includes SRS, flashcards, multiple choice quizzes, writing challenges, kanji and word search, custom sets and much more. Kanji Study hopes to be your essential companion for mastering kanji.

The app is not entirely free; however, the free version has no ads and offers unlimited study of beginner kanji, radicals, hiragana and katakana. The dictionary and all info screens are also free and unrestricted. The one-time upgrade unlocks the remaining kanji levels and allows you to create your own custom sets. It also supports the continued development of this project.

Brilliant app, everything is put together in such a smart way. I mark all the words I learn through DL as favourites as well as their kanji so I can see which words I know have kanji in common. You can learn them linearly as well with a great built-in writing tool, and you can pick the progression within a variety of set frames (JLPT, Japanese grades, books...) or create your own sets. A vital compass in the scary world of kanji, with this I'm confident I will find my way. Thank you so much!!!

Genuinely good app with accurate translations. Lots of freedom with set customization and really inexpensive when compared to other apps/books. I used to have an habit of looking up translations of (Japanese) words I saw throughout the day at ~2AM on Google translate, sometimes getting confusing translations with only one reading etc. (正義 for example has the wrong reading) now I am sure that everything or close to it is correct. Planning to purchase the add ons because it's a really great app !

Mind-blowing app, simply one of the best apps out there. I also love the fact it's a single payment and not a subscription. The dev truly did a fantastic job, it's packed with functionalities, nothing is irrelevant or out of reach, design is pleasant, everything is logical, never seen such a brilliant way to pack such an incredible amount of data. Hats off !! Thank you. Edit : free version is amazing, I honestly don't need the extras of the paid version, but I've bought it to thank the author.

This is an amazing app and an immense help in my Japanese studies. There's just one issue: quizzes have stopped registering for me. They don't count as study time (the writing challenges do), and I no longer get stats based on them (Last Studied, Quizzes, Accuracy). Not sure what it's due to and hope it can be fixed, but the app is great anyway.

An absolutely insane work has been provided to create this app and it shows. I started using it a few years ago then stopped learning Japanese for a while. Got back into learning two months ago and I'm once again impressed by how good it is. There's also a lot of amazing new features as the app is often being updated. I currently have all the add on which can seem like a lot in the beginning but buying them little by little is very doable and definitely worth it 😊.

c'est pratique et bien fait. Great Add-ons : Outlier kanji dictionary came is a great help, and add new vocabulary with pitch accent. KLC grades reading sets are great with the extra amount of kanji put in sentences. Guided study is useful : all the viewed kanji are use in the pool for reviewing and it mixes writing and reading exercises (but seem a little more difficult than the manual ones). (between 新字体 and 旧字体 in not easy to choose )

Learning kanji is an arduous task, and I didn't know how to get started. I have learned the first 80 with this app and will pay for the cheap 1 time upgrade. You can learn the stroke order by writing the kanji and getting corrected real time. When I was confident, I picked them out of multiple choices to confirm I can recognise them. I might consider paying for outlier too (reasonable price) so that I can understand the basic meaning of kanji I've never seen before. Every 2 days for 10min 🤩

Definitely the best app to learn all about kanji and, with the recent addition of the outlier add-on, memorize effectively the characters. I just wished there was a learning system similar to anki were you could see which characters should be in your short-term and long-term memory with reminders and so on.
