Pingmon (Ping test monitor) is an ad-free graphical tool for measuring and monitoring the quality of the Internet or local networks, including Wi-Fi, 3G/LTE. This utility visualizes and vocalizes the results of the ping command, helping you assess network quality (QoS) based on real-time statistics.

When do you need a ping test?
- If you suspect an unstable connection or occasional drops in internet quality.
- If online games, Zoom, or Skype start lagging, and you need to confirm the issue.
- If YouTube or streaming services freeze, and quick internet speed tests don’t provide the full picture.

How to prove to technical support that you have network issues if your game lags or YouTube stutters from time to time?
Short "internet speed tests" don’t give an objective picture of network quality over longer periods.
Use this test to check how stable your ping is over several minutes or hours, and then send the log and connection statistics to your support team. All your test results are saved and will be available at any time.

If you have critical network resources, Pingmon allows you to test the connection to them using any available protocol: ICMP, TCP, or HTTP (for monitoring web resource availability).
To ensure your gaming experience isn’t ruined, you need to know the basic parameters of game servers (ping latency, jitter, packet loss). Pingmon will calculate these and tell you how suitable the server is for gaming.
For added convenience, the ping window can be displayed directly over your game.

The graphical ping test is not only more visual and user-friendly than running the ping command from the command line but also displays real-time network statistics.
In addition to the graph, the internet test will show an estimated connection quality for gaming, VoIP, and video streaming.
With the widget, you will always have the most recent network quality values in front of you.
For convenience, the program can also vocalize network errors and/or successful pings.

Install widgets on your home screen to monitor the status of multiple hosts simultaneously. The widgets support light and dark themes, and their size can be customized to suit your needs by adjusting the amount of information displayed.

Test of net works equally well with Wi-Fi, 4G, local networks, and the internet.

Enjoy using it!

Important: this ping monitoring does not replace programms for checking network bandwidth (Internet speed), but can be used in conjunction with them to fully assess the quality of the network.

Permissions.
To display the type of connected network (for example 3G/LTE), the application will request permission to manage calls. You can reject this permission, the functionality of the application will remain, but the network type will not be displayed and logged.
In order for network monitoring to be performed in the background as long as you are using other applications, Pingmon requires the use of the foreground service (FGS) permission. For Android version 14 and above, you will be asked for permission to display a notification so that you can see the current network statistics or stop the service at any time.

App seems to work fine. However, some features are restricted to the premium version, but neither the app nor the Play Store show me any information about the price. Supplement: Bought it. As of 2024-06-12 the price was €3,49 in Germany. But I still think you should make sure the price is visible somwehere, or it will deter potential buyers.

This app is awesome and it allows me to monitor my remote machines availability. Kudos to the dev for keeping it completely ad free. Would like to have a simple feature which can make my life so much easier. An option to customize the notification tone. I have set the sound option to "Only Lost" and if I can set custom tone for it, then it would help me a lot to identify that i have lost connection to my remote machine and I don't even have to check the app. Kindly consider this suggestion.

I am grateful to the producer of this app for not just for its features, but also making it free and without adds. It would be even better if the app could also keep the ping data for longer time and have an export to text capability. I mean, I would like to be able to save the stats and then process them in Excel to identify problem times during the day.

In principal it's an excellent app but has 3 serious shortcomings which let it down. # 1 You can't save or export the data. # 2 The data seems to rollover and write over existing data. EG if there's a 500 ping results when you scroll up the data starts at 300, these numbers aren't precise but rather to illustrate the problem #3 The graph does the same thing and rolls over the data with the previous data being lost. For short term immediate issues it's perfect but not for long term issues.

This app is exactly what I was looking for to monitor outages and Internet performance for my work. It's easy to understand and not too technical with a great user interface. The only suggestion I'd make is to have a tab where you could record your different tests and their respective outcomes to compare But a fantastic app...love it!

pretty. You have to dig a few levels deep into settings just to change the address you want to ping. Clicking on IP address button doesn't do anything 🤷 Would also be handy to have standard LAN addresses in the list.

It has the functionality and the configuration options. A personal request, if I may: a transparent widget, just with the time which gets active when screen is on, stays active as long as the screen is on and turn itself off when the screen is off. Configuration via a long-press.

This app is exactly what I wanted. Something that grafts my continuous ping and lets me show my ISP all the ping spikes and instability with this connection. Im a gamer and havent been able to play any online multiplayer since I moved into a new place. This is perfect. Well done.
