Garbage app. I mean, it works I guess. But there are so many UI problems..it makes me want to go get a job there, fix the problems, and then immediately quit. Just out of spite so I can properly use the app. Specifically: Trying to scroll to a specific time is almost impossible. Half the time I try to select a time in playback, the app will shift over to a different time, or will go back to the beginning. Also having to zoom back in the area I was just zoomed in on when I restart the segment.

Worked fine for a couple days. Now it refuses to load live view for about a week or two and says there's connection issues. Nothing has changed in the setup, at all. Original Amcrest View app still working, just been using that. Edit: re-added the NVR and it began working again, but cannot view remotely. Yet, I can still view remotely using the original version. I'm uninstalling this app until I hear the devs did something worthwhile.

Amcrest went from a so so app (ver 1) to Amcrest View Pro 2 that does NOT work most of the time. If you have an emergency and need to access a recording YOU ARE IN TROUBLE. Playback of all recorded security video will occur properly LESS THAN 1 % of the time. The app disconnects from the cams 99% of the time if you do not reboot your router every hour. Good luck!

Viewing the cameras and playback loads reasonably fast. Using the app to browse through recorded footage or find specific motion events is terrible, and motion events are also hard to sort through. It's impossible to just quickly sort through motion events and show the footage from other cameras at the same time. All in all it leaves a LOT to be desired as a home security system. But the amcrest NVR itself works decently enough to serve as a historical footage archive.

I went back to using Pro because the PTZ in Pro 2 doesn't work properly. When you swipe a direction the camera goes fully to its limits in that direction. There is no graduation to position adjustment. The PTZ control button does nothing, have to use finger on image to swipe for direction change. Update: Changed to one star because cameras won't connect away from home. The old View Pro connects to all my cameras when away from home.

It works well enough but it's dated. The user interface feels dated, but it's functional. My biggest complaint is that the app keeps notifying me of activity on my camera when it's foggy out. And snoozing the notification does not work. There's the Amcrest Pro 2 App and AmcrestPro2 Alarm. You can snooze these notifications but it does nothing. Every 60 seconds my phone rings.

On the old app, I stopped getting notifications. I updated to this View Pro 2 and I started receiving notifications. When I press on that notification to view a clip, it will play the same one nothing new. Fails to load live view and playback now; on my phone's data or on WiFi. Junk app. Amcrest camera will be replaced with another brand.

Many issues 1. Push notifications do not show a thumbnail. 2. When tapping a notification, it doesn't take me to the clip in the notification, it takes me to the same clip every time - the first clip recorded 3. Can't seem to figure out how to show push notifications for regular motion. Humans and vehicles works. 4. When viewing the list of clips, it doesn't show thumbnails there either, nor the time when the clip was recorded, just a placeholder thumbnail with the duration. Useless.
