Trainz Driver puts you in the cab of a variety of locomotives from around the world. Choose from the "Easy Mode" speed controls, or the more advanced "Realistic Mode" control system. With multiple camera modes you can fly alongside your favourite train, admire the view from the cab, or watch from trackside all while you interact with industries and passenger stations, picking up and dropping off freight wagons, people, and more!
Expand your experience: You can also create your own Routes and Sessions in Trainz Simulator for Tablet devices (available for separate purchase on Google Play) and then share them with Trainz Driver users through the Download Station. has lots of locomotives and cars to choose from. I have been doing experiments with these although most of the time it doesn't work. Derailments are a problem unless you can get your locomotive uncoupled and away from the cars as fast as you can. Collisions are also annoying because you can't escape unless you can reverse. Then your train and the opposite train become one. And ramming is very bad unless you can get in the other train and run away as fast as you can. This game sucks because of that. :-(

I'm glad this was offered as try before you buy. 1. controls too finicky for touch – tap gets confused with drag; 2. UI hangs for 10s at a time; 3. downloadable content seems to be user-generated trash, nothing I'd want to pay for; 4. nearly all US trains and scenery, none of the beauty of British steam power, just a lone Deltic. I don't want it. Not even as an idle time waster. Which is a shame because it looks so good and has so much potential, even next to the desktop version.

I'm amazed how much of the PC version's experience they managed to port to the mobile platform while still retaining good performance. However, the controls are awkwardly small on my Nexus 4, making it frustrating to play. It's probably intended for tablet users, but an option to make the UI bigger for phones would be very welcome. The trial interruptions are also awkward, so only download this if you're willing to pay for the full version. Run the first time on WiFi; there's a 250 meg map download.

When installed free trial, it downloaded some extra 217 MB files and completed the installation ; that's fine. I opened the game, could see the menu like Simulator, tutorials, etc. I did not play the game; I directly quit. Second time when I opened the game, I was not able to get any trial menu as mentioned earlier; instead was asking to buy and when I clicked on exclaimatary icon it said "access expired. Reference no. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx give this to customer care". Hense non-sense trial game.

Spend ten minutes waiting and was forced to close once just to get as far as being told how much data would download when on fast Wi-Fi broadband. Never actually downloaded any of that data before I gave up and uninstalled. Had no trouble downloading and playing obnoxious full screen video ads before it installed, though. Worthless junk.

Full of ads, have to watch a 15 second ad then close an add just to even try to play and after that it doesn't load. Tried over 4 times for 5 minutes still nothing. Don't waste your time.

Description says 13.56MB download. Once it finishes and you start the app, it tells you it needs to download another 200+ MB. Was taking way too long - and playing ads in the meantime! Got sick of waiting, force closed during 3rd of 5 file downloads and uninstalled.

Every few minutes the game will suddenly pause and force you to watch an ad video. This severely disrupts the gameplay flow. I understand the need to make money and all, but these are by far the worst ads I've ever seen in a mobile app. Otherwise the app is pretty good.
