This season is off to a real rough start with this version of the app. "It looks like something went wrong. Please try refreshing the page or try again later," pretty much sums up the experience. Streaming radio broadcasts of live games has become unusable; can barely get through 30 seconds of continuous streaming before it abruptly stops with an error message. Real shame as this used to be a highlight of the app and was such a rich experience.

Mostly Okay. It only gets 2 stars because the Standings page is woefully insufficient for how stat-heavy hockey is. You can't sort by any category, you can't navigate to a team page from there, you can't access roster information without navigating away from the page. You always have to go "home" to try and select a different team to view. You also can't do this from the games menus either when you're viewing a game. There is room for a lot of improvement.

The app is glitching after the whole update of it. I can't even open the matchup to see the rosters and lineups. I've tried restarting my phone, reinstalling the app, reestablishing internet connection. Nothing is working. The app needs to be updated, for penalty minutes, no matter how many penalties have been called, it constantly just shows a 1. Not 2 or 5 or whatever.

It would be great if the audio broadcasts continued playing even if the lock screen comes on or if I'm doing something on my phone besides listening to the game. Seems like this is an issue at least every other season, if not every season! It's the 21st century, guys! Please, let's figure out the device multitasking thing once and for all!

Good God this app is terrible this year. You try looking at the scores and there is like 2 inches worth of scoreboard on the screen. The rest is taken up by ads, the summary reels, and if it's scores from the day before the ridiculous "today" button. May have to find another app for NHL scores after using this for the last 15 or so years.

So. Many. Ads. They're all over this app, it's disgusting. Main tab, scoreboard, news...all condensed to fit more ads. I don't want to watch a 15 second ad everytime I watch a 20 second video. It's almost as bad as the NHL allowing ads on helmets. I honestly only keep it on my phone to listen to games in the car.

Removing two stars due to recent app update. I understand you guys are trying to evolve the app, but I think you might have done too much under the hood as general navigation seems broken based on my recent interactions with the update, push notifications for followed teams don't seem to be working at all, & Gamecenter or even just checking the game roster is now a mess compared to how it used to be. Video replays of goals don't work at all. Please fix before the regular season starts.🙏🏻

Good for NHL fans. Game highlights are concise and thorough, plus you can customize whether or not you see live scores as not to spoil games before watching recaps. The statistical breakdowns on each game are easy to follow with a great UI. Pinned articles and league-wide announcements are relevant and lack excessive bias. All in all, it's a great way to keep up with your team, while also tracking other teams and league standings. The NHL and the MLB did a fine job with the respective apps.
