Phyn lets you speak the language of water.

From the free Phyn app you can understand how much water your family uses and where they are using it the most. Get alerted the minute a leak issue occurs and run diagnostic "Plumbing Checks" to proactively catch tiny leaks before they become big problems.

PHYN SMART WATER ASSISTANT

Leak alerts:
SMS and push notifications alert you at the first sign of a possible issue. Take action by connecting to a HomeAdvisor plumber in minutes through the app.

Plumbing Checks:
Turn off your water at the main and run Phyn’s Plumbing Check feature. In minutes Phyn will detect pinhole leaks and poor seals in your water system.

Water Use Plus:
Track and view your water use daily and monthly to get ahead of your water costs, and see how your home compares to others. Over time, Phyn learns your system and communicates your water usage down to each fixture. See every water event in your home so you can teach Phyn about your water use.

Pre-Freeze Warnings:
Phyn’s patented pressure sensing sees the ice crystals forming in your pipes before they have a chance to freeze and burst, giving you precious time to take action and avoid damage.

Smart Home Integrated: Use voice commands to learn about your water use. Phyn works seamlessly with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. And with IFTTT you can have Phyn trigger actions with other smart home devices.

Manage multiple properties
Monitor water use and receive leak alerts for up to 6 properties from one account in the Phyn app.

PHYN PLUS SMART WATER ASSISTANT + SHUTOFF

Auto and Remote Water Shutoff:
After Phyn learns about your home’s water use, it can turn your water off automatically to prevent damage from leaks. You also have the choice to turn your water off yourself via the app, from anywhere.

Leak alerts:
Phyn constantly monitors your home for leaks and potentially harmful changes in pressure and temperature. As soon as an issue is detected, Phyn sends you SMS and push notifications to tell you what is happening and gives you the power to turn your water off to mitigate water damage.

Water Use:
Stay ahead of your water bill. Graph views of your monthly, daily and even hourly water use.

Water Use Plus:
Track and view your water use daily and monthly and see how your home compares to others. Phyn learns about your plumbing system and communicates your water usage to each fixture type (showers, sinks, toilets, etc…). See every water event in your home so you can teach Phyn about your water use.

Plumbing Checks:
Phyn automatically runs daily diagnostic checks to give you and your plumber insights into your plumbing so that you can ensure that your system is watertight.

Smart Home Integrated:
Use voice commands to learn about your water use and control your shutoff valve. Phyn works seamlessly with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. And with IFTTT you can have Phyn trigger actions with other smart home devices.

Manage multiple properties:
Monitor water use and receive leak alerts for up to 6 properties from one account in the Phyn app.

Haptic feedback on every press is annoying. Should be an option. I frequently have to close the app to get it to refresh or load the latest info. AI/ML is not really working well. Mostly doesn't recognize uses correctly after 6 months of correcting it Other than that the app is fine. Good display of info and nice layout. Mainly good for monitoring only. Update: detection got much worse. I tried to get them to reset the learning but said no just keep renaming... 2 years later still renaming 85%

They tell you to pair your sensor by going to wifi and selecting the sensor network, at which point you lose access to your own network and the internet, and when you go back to the app, it says "offline." There is zero support for this obstacle online, anywhere. I mean, this process must work for someone, but it's useless to me.

I have the phyn plus 2nd gen. It is excellent from a device standpoint. It detects leaks and shuts the water off as designed. The app is lackluster at best. It is glitchy and appears to be thrown together as an afterthought. There is no ability to view a graph of sensor trends. Moen provides the ability to see a graph that trends pressure, flow rate, and temperature. The graphs can be real time or over a period of 24 hours or 7 days. There is no reason phyn can't provide the same functionally.

A good experience, easy to get up and running, a good deal of insight provided by the app, and very nice no subscription is required. The app AI gets most of the big water events and many of the smaller ones correct. Sometimes it takes a while relearning events and correcting AI guesses for a while but gets it eventually seems to get it right. **It would be nice if the app could show the flow rate information with the event flags to help the user identify unknown events**.

Just ok. I regret not looking into how they handle data before dropping hundreds of dollars on this device. They provide absolutely no mechanism for you to export data (no csv download, no API, nothing). This sucks for many reasons, but one is simply that the app is somewhat lackluster for viewing data. There's no option for a flow vs time graph. Only individual event logs, or a calendar view with shades of blue to represent relative usage. There is a several-minute lag before events appear.

Undercooked.. Advanced water events: The idea is great hut the promised AI is not working & the app takes a lot of time to display water events which makes training the AI even more difficult... In addition, there is no way to restart the training process without a full reset of the device... However, for overall consumption, detecting small leaks (without knowing where, due to above not working properly), and remote water shut off, it's works fine. I hope it improves over time..

Can't even create an account. I have a Samsung S22 ultra and this app doesn't work on a mainstream phone. Tried it on my wife's phone , same issue. Update: Turns out the app needs all the permissions known to mankind. Give the app all permissions and reboot your phone. Called customer support ( ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐) and they helped me understand the issue. Now I'm able to use the app. Kinda feels like the app was an afterthought.

The Phyn app is pretty simple, easy to navigate, and provides useful information clearly. I wish the app would include more statistics and reporting capabilities like: average daily use, usage between two arbitrary dates (total and per appliance). Also custom alerts: "I want to be alerted if my daily usage exceeds X gallons". Sometimes water events are wrong because multiple fixtures were running at once. An option to split an event or mark it "multiple fixtures". Toilet + sink is common.
