All the data, beta, and resources in one place. KAYA PRO makes outdoor climbing more accessible and convenient than ever before with verified GPS coordinates, interactive topos, and detailed climb descriptions. Official KAYA Guides are available for classic areas like Bishop, Joe’s Valley, and more — all available offline for when the service gets rough.
- Track Progress -
With thousands of gyms and climbing areas in our database, KAYA offers a superior logging experience. Videos, ascents, comments, and star ratings are all available within each climb page. If you’ve kept a logbook with another app or website in the past, you can easily upload it into KAYA through your profile page.
- Connect -
KAYA is community-focused. You’ll be notified when your buddy breaks into a new grade so you can leave ‘em a fist-bump and a comment. In-app messenger allows you to connect with other climbers, and, if your gym is on KAYA, receive new set notifications when the routesetting team finishes slinging the freshies.
- Compete -
KAYA challenges are one of the best ways to stay motivated and interact competitively with the climbing community. Go up against the world’s best or compete with your friends at your local competition.
It doesn’t stop there. We are always making changes and improvements to KAYA. Keep your updates turned on so you won’t miss a thing.

In principle, this app is great. The need for a great "climbing guide" app is real, and kaya could be it. The problem with pdf topos is that you can't easily update it, and community can't contribute. In Kaya, anyone can add climbs. The main problem in my region (Québec) is that there are no moderators yet, and it's hard to get approved as a moderator. This means no boulder map and no problem description. This should be more accessible. Also, there should be a version without the analysis stuff.

So far (past 1/2 year) it's been really great for tracking my climbs in the gym, and the new one click flash button is really convenient. A couple features I'd love to see added are: - Ability to hide climbs without logging them as sent (for example on walls where toprope isn't possible) - Remove the requirement to suggest a grade when logging a send, at least for gyms (specifically for gyms that use colour systems, this becomes very cumbersome and is the #1 reason my friends won't use this app)

I'm kind of a numbers nerd so I love the paid subscription and all the stats you can get from tracking your climbing over time. The only thing that's remotely negative is just the delta between indoor gym grading and outdoor grading. So sometimes your indoor climbing says you're a lot better than your outdoor reality. But they have filters for that. So you can also just compare your outdoor stats.

I subscribed to the original version to be able to use the guidebook feature, as my local crag has a shortage of physical guidebook copies. As much as I like the added filtering features (climb style, wingspan, height, character, etc.) I find the main useful aspect of a guide missing - the ability to easily see climbs that are close together and compare multiple climbs. The app is just clunky relative to having 9-15 climbs summarized on two pages with topos all visible simultaneously.

Edit (Aug 2024): Kaya is always improving their coverage of outdoor boulders and Guides. Great challenges on the app. Playback of beta is a little challenging, for example pause doesn't pause on the moment you want, or can't scroll through and fast forward/rewind, have to wait for replay. It is cool to see other people's beta on the app! It's a little clunky to navigate around (such as finding climbs), and when there's a challenge the leaderboard gets glitchy scrolling down.

Pretty good app overall but missing a feature to be able to filter climbs by "climbs sent this session". To train we often do the same climbs to build strength so it would be incredibly useful to be able to filter out the ones I already did during a set. Thanks!

Incredibly slow on my newish phone. To the point that it is frustrating to wait for the laggy app to do anything. You never know if an input is received or not. Moving around my gym's map is terrible. I wouldnt use the app if my gym didn't use it to grade climbs. Pretty disappointing that this is seemingly the go to app for climbing. Also subscription model for full guidebook access is wack.

Love it! Always use their online map when looking for new boulders in squamish. Looking forward to checking out crags in the US using Kaya!
