Do atoms generate sound? Well, not really but they do have Energy! Every atom has a Nucleus and electrons orbiting the Nucleus. The Nucleus contains protons, neutrons and many other subatomic particles. The less
massive electrons orbit the Nucleus while they are spinning but do not dive into the nucleus. However, these electrons can get excited by acquiring external energy such as electromagnetic radiation and move to a higher state. The higher state is usually an unstable state and the electron will eventually return to its stable state. When it does, it emits energy in the form of electromagnetic waves which has been experimentally observed
as spectral lines in the visible, infrared and ultraviolet spectrum.

It is possible to predict the wavelengths of electromagnetic
waves and their frequencies using the Rydberg Formula for the Hydrogen Atom. Based on the electron's state, there are various series such as the Lyman series, Balmer series, Paschen series, Brackett series and Pfund series. The frequency data obtained refers to different frequencies of electromagnetic radiation emitted during the electron's transition process. This frequency data is then pitch shifted so as to be in the Human Audible range of 20Hz to 20000Hz respectively and that is Atom Sound.

The Rydberg Formula can be further extended to Hydrogen like elements which includes the respective ions of elements following Hydrogen such as Helium, Lithium, Beryllium and Boron. The ions of these four elements are
positively charged and hence behave like Hydrogen except they have many protons and neutrons compared to Hydrogen.
