I installed this app and paid for a year subscription - twice - and both times, when I opened the app to use it next, it did not acknowledge that I had paid for a subscription. It limits the amount of flashcards you can use in a day unless you have a subscription, but it does not recognize when you pay for a subscription. Very disappointing. I spent a lot of time adding in my study cards and I feel ripped off.

Not for Chinese learners! I got this app because I mistakenly thought it was the pro version of "Anki", which people talk about in the Chinese learning community. However, this app is just some random ripoff that uses the same name (the app you want is "AnkiDroid" which is completely free). This app doesn't have any voice option for Mandarin Chinese. Their in-house TTS doesn't support Mandarin, or most languages. And even if you pay them, you can't upload your own audio!

I just use the free app for learning japanese, and for someone that isn't super intensely studying it works well for me! you only gey a measly 50 cards per day including your reviews, so not a ton. But, if you are just a hobbyist free is perfect. if you are super dedicated to learning you'll have to buy the full version to get the results you want, but the free works well for me! the spaced repetition process seems to work well for me.

I just downloaded the app and I got to the point where I could put in a language and I get a choice of "New words", "Grammer" & "both". But no matter which one I click I get the error message "something went wrong resources could not be updated". Perhaps there's something I'm doing wrong and don't understand. Almost seems like there's something I should have downloaded first. However there's no explanation and no preferences button."

EDIT: First, I have no problem with buying apps outright and, in fact, prefer it to renting. I'd rather not "support" or encourage anyone by paying in advance for work unseen. Do the work and, if I like the features, I'll buy. No, my issue was with your exorbitant cost, and now even more so, since you say it pays for "only...some limitations" over the free version. ORIGINAL: Ridiculously expensive rent ($5/mo, $30/yr) and lifetime ($75) fees, as of Feb 15, 2024.

Pretty trash app, limits you to a timer you have to wait for to let cards "recharge" (like what the heck?) Essentially giving you one go-through to study. I recommend flashcards worlds, it has no limits, no egregious purchases, And is formatted better. I am appalled by this app tbh, surprised it has any good reviews at all. Ads I can understand, even a small purchase to remove said ads, but this goes much beyond that.

I was satisfied with the app at first to the point that I decided to buy the premium annual membership. Then, after the 3 days trial ended and it charged me it started prompting me to sign up for membership even though I already have it. Now I come to find this isn't even the real Anki app but some sort of scam--the real one is apparently called "AnkiDroid". That said, it worked ok prior to this issue. Update: Resolved with "Restore" button. One other minor complaint is unskippable streak pages

I like the app. The interface is neat and easy to get a hang of. The algorithms take out the tedious process of deciding which cards to do if you are working with a large amount of cards. I only wish there was a deck-setting where you can make it so it shows you the cards you haven't studied yet first. As it is now, you always have to go through all the ones you're repeating that day before getting to the new cards, which can be so many that you don't get around to the new cards for a few days.
