Spent a fair amount of time trying to get this app to work and thought I'd share my findings in the hope that it helps someone else out there. I'm using Android 9 on a Moto G6 Plus & although I could always connect to the drone's Wi-Fi network, it would always show as 'Disconnected' in the 4DRC app - the fix for this is to 'Forget' the '4DRC....' network in phone's Wi-Fi settings each time & connect to it fresh as if it's the first time. When doing this it consistently works for me now. Now that I can get it to work, the functionality is reasonable & does the job reasonably well.

Purchased 4DRC F3 GPS 4k. On Samsung S10 I had the same issues as Kelly's post. And noticed others. PROBLEM with wifi and app: Software crashes every time if connected to wifi BEFORE you enter the actual control screen (hit GO button). FRUSTRATING SOLUTION: Turn off wifi., then hit the GO key, then go back and connect wifi, then hope it doesn't go back to home screen in which case you often have to start from scratch. Other noted problems: software features are not showing up, (many icons are missing from help screen). Additionally, the help screen does not represent placement of other buttons on screen. Cannot access GPS route planning, for example. Considering returning drone because of this software.

Pre update it worked fine. Post update... When it does manage to randomly connect, that connection only lasts about 2 min before it starts buffering for about 30 seconds and then it just gives up and drops the connection. And for the record, I tried a clean reinstall and still has problems. I remember when updates were used to fix things, note break them. Update. Tried it on my new tablet. Same result.

The app works fine for me, capturing video and images from both cameras of my drone. It would be useful to control the size of the capturing media: it is a waste of memory to capture 4k images from 720p and 480p cameras. Overall, the app has lots of features, but it could have more instructions and slightly better GUI (more intuitive, requiring less clicks).

It uses too much power even if I'm not connected to the drone. Needs a better manual (tutorial) for the functionalities. There is a bug in the WayPoint mode - there is no way to stop it - the red cross button doesn't work and I had to fully restart the drone to be able to take manual control again. Also the video stream is not perfect I'm not sure if this is limitation because of the Wi-Fi or something else. Also I cannot record in 4k. The app says that my phone doesn't support it, but I can watch videos from youtube in 4k.

Great app! Works perfectly well with my 4D-V4 it didn't work for a while but then I realised you had to start the app for the first time connected to the drones WiFi signal and it worked perfectly! If you started it without the WiFi connected, uninstall the app, install it again, use the drone WiFi to set up for the first time and it works amazing!

The drone is not that bad, I see nobody's actually telling you how to work it. To work it first you have to connect to the drones WiFi in your WiFi settings, it should say "4DRC" something, and then go to the app, then you have to click "GO". And click "Horizontal Calibration" on the bottom right corner you have to manually pick it up and slowly turn around to calibrate it, the tilt it vertically so the front is facing straight up, then turn around again. Click the box in the top left, then lock

It does work well but it's quite complicated it took me ages to figure it out I had to connect to the drones WiFi first then go through with the calibration setups and then I recently found out to get it to fly you have to press the lock button on the bottom left of the screen and then the propellers start to spin then from there you can fly it so all in all once you've finally figured it out its a good app
