We moved to London over a year ago and it was our first time living without a car in our adult lives. Zipcar really has been a game changer. We use it for trips to parties with our kids across town when transport is too long or shut down. We've used it getting home from the airport. We've used the large vans for moving things and picking up items. We've used it for weekend trips. it's WAY more affordable than owning a car and having to manage licensing and parking. I love that fuel is included.

Super handy to have an emergency car in London. Little tip- Extend your hour trip if you get caught in traffic. Penalty fare otherwise. But Zip refunded me as it was my first time. It's easy to do on the app. Also start your hire, on the hour/30 mins if possible. Would be handy to have 15 minute time slots to book. You can extend 30 minutes extra. So definitely do this before your session hire expires. Set an alarm! Easy to access the car with Bluetooth. Keys are in the Glovebox / Green Fob.

They offer many cars in the area to choose from. Only ever had one confusion between the round trip and flexible car option. Other than that, I'm very happy with this service, especially if it's a short trip, very affordable. They make it very easy to pick up, drop off and provide a lot of resources to help with the service prior to using. Have already recommended to some friends in London

Van was fine, process of finding and unlocking the car pretty good. When I returned, someone had parked in the designated bay, so I contacted customer service. They said I had to find an unrestricted bay within 1 mile. The pickup point was a busy town centre, obviously there are no unrestricted bays. The agent then refused to offer any help at all, no alternative. Next customer was in 4 days and Zipcar would be passing on any parking fines to me if I didn't follow their (impossible)instructions.

Don't like that as a new customer you have to pay additional money to edit your details. Have already submitted tickets / complaint about this but no response on refund of additional payment from Support. Not able to take a lot of pics on the app but thankfully you can on your own phone. Agree with other users re internet / Bluetooth reliance and inability/ difficulty in the app finding your location.

They canceled my trip one hour and 30 minutes before my reservation. I asked for reimbursement and got an offer for around $1.30. Asked support to just refund and cancel my subscription. Previous experiences include 1) ZipCar moving my reservation to a different location as I'm staring right at the car I reserved 2) car not locking or unlocking due to bad signal, which will happen often if somewhat underground Overall, terrible service, sub-par cars, often smells of cigarettes.

You can't do everything on an app, and when the app has a glitch, or the phone runs out of battery, the whole system collapses. Can't open, can't close, can't drive, etc. All solved by a piece of plastic, then unsolved by technophiles at Zipcar, uninventing the wheel.

I was charged $25 by Zip simply for entering my debit card info, without clicking 'activate membership' or checking the confirmation box. There was no clear warning that entering card details would result in an immediate charge. Customer service refused to refund me, calling it non-refundable. This is unfair and misleading, as I never even confirmed the membership. Extremely upset and disappointed by this practice!
