It does not matter if you use the train, the underground or the bus. If you use the 'München navigator', you can buy a ticket on your mobile, including all forms of transport within Munich (MVV). How does it work?

Buy your ticket directly by app
You can travel all over Munich and buy the ticket in the app – in the MVV you can buy single tickets, day tickets, the airport-city-day-ticket, the city tour ticket, day tickets for your bike or the IsarCard. When you travel within Bayern you can buy the Bayern-Ticket. You pay by credit card (Visa, Master Card, Amex), PayPal or if you are registered by bank transfer.

Intergrated information of the Munich timetable (MVV)
The timetable information gives you information about connections and addresses in Munich. It is just as convenient as the German Railway (DB) navigator. You can store the information under 'favourites'.

Aboportal
You can log in to the subscription portal and manage your subscription and customer data yourself. If you have a (((eTicket you can read your (((eTicket and see what data is stored on it. For this you need a smartphone with NFC.

You can see an overview of all trains at your station and check for delays

Disturbances (Störungen)
You can get information in the case of sudden changes of timetable.

Very poor. The app says the Deutsche Ticket will be updated every month automatically. This doesn't happen, old expired ticket is shown. Got a penalty today because of it. Have to spend time and go to customer service to solve this.

Its a better app than the ones it replaced because it gives a realtime train locstion map. Unfortunately, it still suffers from the fact that it doesn't provide any valuable information as to why a stop is closed or why the train isn't running. I have to go to two different sites to discover the possible cause for cancellations and the most i can ever find is a generic message. There needs to be more realtime messaging in the app as well as for favorite routes.

Very glitchy and cooperates with payment options intermittently. One would expect that if the ticket vending machines are poorly organized the app might be a better. The app is just as confusing. The makers for both the app and the ticket vending machines should look at models of other companies which provide a better flow for purchasing tickets. Registration these days via 3rd party provider (Google/Facebook) and payment options (GPay) should be preferred over spinning your own.

The area where people have to add travellers name for Bayern ticket is not intuitive. Once we add multiple person there isn't anything that tells us to add the name of travellers. This can be costly for someone who doesn't know how this system work and app should be made in a way so that it is intuitive to use. Lost money because of this.

Times tend to be right but missing bus options which has been a real problem especially at night. Needs to be updated with changing bus options for a route (some aren't even listed outside of the city) and stop locations

Update: The intent and function of the app could be great. My first review had 4 stars a later one 3 stars becaus the info was sometimes not correct. Now I give 1 star. It is not reliable at all anymore. I repeatedly miss trains due to wrong info. Like. Departure in 10 minutes. 2 minutes later: depature in 2 minutes.

Ticket and payment flow is to complicated and reacts slowly. Juts loading the selection of tickets takes up to 5 second on fast connection. There is no support for Google Pay or Paydirekt, which would speed up and really simplify the payment process, as they require no login and could approve payment quickly. I also often get issues with server connection, I made the mistake to buy stripe tickets and after I could not use them because I would get Failed to Connect with server error.
