update: it contains a free trial, but most of the app is locked behind a paywall. I understand the need to earn revenue and since they do it really well I can't complain about it. still, I can't pay for it right now so I'll have to go back to avocards 😭 past review below most Korean vocabulary flashcard learning apps are fairly straightforward and repetitive, but if you're a beginner it exposes you to how those words are used in sentences, and makes you get used to typing in Korean! 10/10

I love the approach of learning the most frequent words first, it's a beautiful app, certainly one of the best but there's no motivation to remember the words it teaches you. The only context is the sentence from the language you're learning which is not enough because you're not familiar with the language. It doesn't even explain the word for you. Just gives a bland translation. Our brain remembers words when you comprehend them or when you make associations

Price is very high for an app that's only function is to teach words, either more exercises (like for German to practice only Artikels etc.) or lower price is needed (although I'm subscribed). VERY IMPORTANT: why users can't edit the decks after they're created, it's a very important feature, also when creating a deck, it would be nice to be able to take more than one photo. After taking the photo, one must add additional words by hand and if you forget to add a word unfortunately you can't edit

Lingvist really helps with my vocabulary learning. I've been using it for years to improve my German. This year they've made massive leaps forward in design, learning interface, settings etc. Unlike Duolingo this isn't for learning to construct sentences, it's purely vocab focused. I love it and paid for a lifetime account, without any regrets.

Hey, your app is dope! Repetitive sentence and words are my personal best way to study a language. Once I've even used one full sentence in a conversation just because I remembered it so well. Iam a really big fan of all the different features and I bought the 1 year Abonnement. Just an idea, it would be incredible if you'd create a course for Latin, it would safe my life probably. I know how difficult it is because of all the matter of grammar, anyway just an idea. :)

The app in itself is quite good, I especially like its pronunciation exercises, because there is, as far as I know, no other app that offers this function at this extent - meaning having lenghty dialogues you can "participate" in. Also, its speech recognition is pretty good, as I have noticed. But! I wish there were more material to study - at least, for French. There is, for example, only a handful of grammar exercises and the number of pronunciation challenges is also very modest. I don't mind spending money on language apps - I've already bought several subscriptions this year alone, some of them are even pricier than Lingvist. But this app with such a limited amount of material isn't worth the money, imho.

This app is providing one of the most convenient interfaces for the flash cards. However, the German course is absolutely impractical. From it's perspective, first I need to know about federal government regulations, but not how to pick up a package or make an order. In general, it gives too many niche words that are definitely not needed at the beginning of learning journey, while positioning itself as a fast way of learning the language core. Also It'd be nice to have reverse translation mode.

I really prefer Lingvist to every other language app I've tried. Its simple interface and good algorithm make it fun. I'm impressed with how useful some of the given sentences are and find myself wanting to reach my goals every day! The statistics are very useful and it's free without being obnoxiously full of ads etc I hope that one day they'll include more languages to learn in but I have very high hopes for them! The desktop version is just as good as the app, it's a lot of fun! The grammar sections are well-explained and helpful bits of info. Not overwhelming either. Would and have recommended it to a friend
