Disappointed. I like proton but this app for drive is barely functional. It syncs when it wants, no prioritization or force sync. Photo backup just sits there doing nothing most of the time. 4000 pictures and it has taken 3+ weeks to upload ~600 overnight on wifi. When downing files, EVERY FILE MUST BE DONE SEPARATELY! Why not entire folders? I want this to be the solution for syncing between computer and a couple of androids, but so far it is more trouble than it is worth. Hoping this changes.

I enjoy using Proton's email service but this one is undercooked as it is right now. I have tried multiple ways of opening a document within Proton Drive and it just won't allow me to view/edit it at all. Opening it elsewhere, like in Google Drive or Dropbox, works fine, so I don't know what the issue is. Hopefully it gets addressed soon but I'm definitely dropping my subscription if I can't actually open/view/edit my files while away from my desktop. Edit: For the developer, it was a docx file

The app is improving but it's not there yet. In the last weeks the app doesn't seem to remember backing up photos and videos. I have to open the app and refresh the photos tab, only then it remember to upload them. Also, I wish they add the ability to back up my phone entirely, such as Google one. My phone is Pixel 9 Pro.

I do like Proton and their privacy guarantees, but I'm often frustrated by their services. For Drive, many of my uploads fail on first attempt. Also, you cannot upload folders, only individual files. So if you have hundreds or thousands of files you want to share or backup, you'd need to upload them individually... knowing that it'll often fail in the process.

Editing my review: I love this app, I really do. But I'm having a few problems. The first issue I have is my previous complaint. Why can't a user select MULTIPLE IMAGES OR FILES AT ONCE to make available offline? And the second is a recent issue. It won't back up my camera photos. It says camera folder wasn't found. Please help!!!

Not favorable. I'm not able to attach to an email my photos that are backed up from my phone. I'm also not able to email any of my documents from my computer. What is the point to backing up my photos and files if I can't access them? I love Proton! Proton Drive is not a good app/software 10/8/24 (update): still the worst app. Files I have in "My Files" folder that I have on my PC do not show in "My Files" on my phone app, and vice versa. Highly recommend NOT to download/use!

If they implement an AI search for photos it would be a perfect replacement for all other photo/video cloud services. As of now it really lags behind with features as a phone backup. It doesn't even let you quick scroll through months/years. The other aspects of the app are great tho like the computer backup and regular file backup.

Best cloud storage ever. I think my only complaint is that I wish photos could be grouped together like albums in a gallery app. EDIT: I moved it down to 4 stars because the app has made some of my photos nearly triple the size they were before. I thought this app was reliable enough for me to store photos here so I could stop using up space on my phone... and now all the filesizes of my photos are huge, after all the work I went through to compress them all.
