ResearchGate as a website is good, the app is not: there seems to be no efforts being made to improve it. For example, I've been unable to download full texts from the app for months due to what seems to be a bug: the download pops up but immediately fails. This has not been fixed and seemingly never will be. This function works without issue from the browser. I'd suggest sticking to using the website via browser.

Honestly too little too late. The app's functionality isn't great (e.g. many things still take me to the website instead of the app) and ResearchGate isn't fun anymore without the RG score. The "interest" scores only reflect activity on researchgate itself which which makes them biased and basically meaningless since most people aren't "active" on the platform in the social media sense. I can get a much better idea of interest from a Altmetric.

I am a retired geologist, so no company name, no institution name, only a personal email. I will never stop wanting to reseasrch. And Google or Wikipedia is sometimes not enough. Theyiss the minutia and dive you the totally wrong results. The app requires you to answer a ton of questions about what papers you have written. A simple "None of the Above" would be nice. Or to let you put in your middle name to reduce the list. I still haven't been able to complete the application.

App has completely stopped working. It would give an error message about something being temporarily wrong on their end, but that has been going for days. I just tried reinstalling but now it won't even let me log in. Previously it worked ok, though I was never able to see and respond to requests for PDFs through the app.

This app has a terrible user experience. Very laggy and feed refreshes while I'm attempting to scroll further down the list resulting in me having to attempt to scroll even further to see the article I'm interested in. I'm probably just going to delete it and use the desktop version of the site.

Quite buggy with little support. The app always displays the page of the first ResearchGate web-link the app was opened to, and does not update with subsequent different web-links . The only way to have the app display the correct page associated with a ResearchGate website link is to close the app down before opening such a link. Also, as of recently, the app fails to download any publication from the ResearchGate site. Others have reported the same problems, yet nothing is done.

Ok, so here's the thing—the app really sucks! The notifications can't be clicked, the stats can't be expanded, the documents can't be edited, and so on. It just acts as a "preview" to the actual RG profile; requires the web-version to do everything else.

I recently used the ResearchGate app and encountered a frustrating issue—it didn't allow me to upload a file. This limitation significantly hindered my ability to share important research materials. I hope the developers address this issue promptly to enhance the app's functionality for users like me who rely on seamless file uploads.
