A bit of a stuggle to set up so do not expect a plug & play experience. Even if you are on the same wifi network as your VDJ PC, it won't work if you are on a different frequence, ie 2g or 5g. For me it never connects automatically, I have to manual type in the remote apps IP every time to connect. As other people have mentioned, It drops connection if you move app to the background on your Android device. Additionally you also have to install some additional Apple software on your Windows PC for it to work. Considering how good the VDJ8 software is, this Android app seems to be less finished, and in my opinion lets Atomix down. It also looks like they have stopped work on it some time ago as it warns that it may not work on the latest version of Android, and if you try to look at the Changelog as advertised here, it tells you "Sorry, you don't have the necessary accreditations to view this page." Is it worth £9? For what it does, I am not sure.

AMAZING! Used a few times at the bar.... while I was eating. Very fun. Customers are very impressed. Especially when I ask them to scratch on the screen..... their faces are priceless, when they realize they're the one's doing the scratching on the club music....It's crazy.... Latency is minimal. It's great!! Must have WiFi connected.... Worth the $10

To save money organizing our 40-year high school reunion, I was tasked with DJing the event. Problem was, I'm not a DJ. I downloaded Virtual DJ on a laptop with my entire music collection and iTunes and Bonjour installed. To my pleasant surprise, Virtual DJ recognized every playlist. Ready to roll there. I downloaded Virtual DJ Remote app. The app connected to the laptop seemlessly. The remote app remained connected the entire 4-hour event. FYI: Make sure you install Bonjour!!!

Needs lots of work on the connection. I have this on my Samsung J530 BUT if I navigate to another background app, then it disconnects and changed port number. This means the listed connection in VDJ8 Settings is now in error and there is no way to remove or edit it. So you add another connection and the same happens again... the connection drops and port changes. There are no settings anywhere to change - like fix the port so it doesn't change so during a set you don't get nasty surprises. Otherwise good app - years ago when it first came out I had an iPhone and the app just worked perfectly and automatically - this Android version with new modern WAPs is a pain. Even changing the Smartphone to a hotspot doesn't work as it changes port again. The only way I can see around this is to have say, a Raspberry Pi as a headless non-internet connected Wifi Hotspot with mac recognition and port translation for the only 2 connected devices. Atomix please fix this annoying disconnect problem

I work in a strip club and I use the remote app because I also host the amateur night which requires me to be on stage and this app allows me to cue up my music in my side list while onstage hosting. used to connect automatically but now I always have to manually type in IP address and at time when I load a song into my auto mix it doesn't register it and I have to do it twice which isn't fun while in the middle of an event. but works well enough without any major issues. very helpful.

Many complain about connectivity. I also had issues connecting through the IP address using my browser. But once I found the IP connection setting in the VDJ program, everything worked fine. The app does everything fluently. Only improvement I wish would be to be able to use the app standalone.

I've been using this app since day1 and since the last update i have only 1 complain! When i try to view the songs in the sidelist, i can only see the top songs on that list, meaning i can't scroll down. On the automix list though i can!!! I'm still rating it 5 stars cause it works awesome! This app is simply revolutionary!!!!

Absolutely Fantastic companion app. Works really well with zero lag in my case using EE hotspot and home WiFi. Easy to customise or use different skins. I use the normal one mainly. Has access to stems, effects and easy secondary song search outside of messing around with main laptop. In my case I can even close the app and reload it and boom still works. Well done to the Devs on keeping this app working well.
