The sync function leaves a lot to be desired. Sometimes (80% of the time) it doesn't sync correctly leaving the read status incorrect, this means the metadata wasn't fully synced. The process is also so slow, unlike the kindle app, which is almost immediate, you'll have to wait at least 5 min for this. After many months of this, this wasn't fixed yet. I just tried syncing 2 phones side by side, although almost everything synced correctly, the "now reading" latest book didn't.

Edit: problem solved. Just need to remove battery usage restrictions for the app. When it works well, it's great. But a few times a day its TTS will either struggle extremely badly (pausing several seconds after each sentence, lasting maybe half an hour) or completely stop working until you turn the screen on again (yes, paid version, no timer).

Unfortunately, I’m a bit disappointed. I have an EPUB file with over 30,000 pages (I know it’s a bit crazy, but don’t worry about that). When I try to open it with this app, it only shows me 300 of the pages. I tested the file with other EPUB readers, and they displayed all the pages just fine. Unfortunately, this app couldn’t handle it, which is disappointing because I actually used to like this app quite a lot.

Reader Apps are fairly simple in their purpose but I find so much wrong with a lot of them. ReadEra is the first I don't have any issues with. It's got plenty of features but keeps the clutter off the screen when you're actually reading. great balance of functionality and comfort. the only thing it could add would be a desktop version to easily transfer notes and keep reading if you're studying/referencing something for a project. That's a lot of work to implement though and it's great already

At first, after purchasing this, I thought that the syncing was not working correctly since a bunch of files seemed like they weren't syncing onto the secondary device because it said that there documents without files. Later, I discovered that when I searched for those same books on the Read Era app, they really were there after all. So, if you have a similar issue, that might help. Reaching out to their tech support was very helpful and they were very responsive over email.

Had the free version for years and switched over mainly for the voice feature and still love it! Even with the free version customization is very open, organization is present and it has a highlight and quotes feature. Only recommendations I can think of are custom colours for highlights and custom book covers cause I have plenty of pdfs without covers and they ruin the aesthetic of my app because if their nakedness 😭

The free option is great as it is. I payed for it because more developers should do this, give a addfree full functioning app. I do like the extra options and I wish some more different backgrounds. Reading digitally is still hard for my eyes. Many light blue background is better. The dictionary option is great to. A friend suggested this app.

Been using the premium app for years and I'm loving it, esp with the updates like the dictionary and TTS, which enables me to pronounce certain words. I'd prefer if the shelf display is more compressed, like having the option to fit 4 book tiles in a row. I like that it's simple, but the highlight could be better if it's round, I think? A section for book reviews would be nice, too. Hopefully these would be considered for future updates and also become available on ios. Thanks!
