FlickBoard is a keyboard for Android that doesn't try to correct or predict you.It doesn't have an opinion on the correct spelling or tone. It certainly doesn't use any AI.
Because it trusts you to write what you meant to write.
Instead, FlickBoard uses swipes to get away with using vastly fewer (and larger!) buttons than a traditional QWERTY keyboard, helping you build muscle memory, minimize typos, and touch type faster.
Type the letters in the center of a key by tapping it. Type the keys in the corners by swiping in that direction. It's that simple!
FlickBoard is inspired by MessagEase and Thumb-Key. It is also open source, see https://codeberg.org/natkr/flickboard!

Having become disollusioned with Messagease development, this has been the best replacement :) The other alternative I tried just didn't cut it detecting circle guestures and didn't have long-hold guestures for numbers, of which this app does just fine. Would be nice for the £ sign to be it's own symbol- took me ages to find it hidden under the € and only then because of the guesture recogniser.

This is a fantastic subsitution for MessagEase, instantly hit with waves of nostalgia upon opening for the first time! I could only suggest a spellcheck integration, if possible. That would make this keyboard the perfect typing tool!

Perfect replacement for Messagease. I may missed it, but there seems no way to adjust the width of the buttons, only the height. Is it possible to add it for the next version? Thanks! Edit: I've read the dev's answer. Yes, that's what I did exactly. Problem is, at max scale the buttons are still not wide enough for me.

Excellent keyboard. Was looking for alt keyb to messagease (which let me down, even after paying for it). Found this and have used it for a month now. Although i do miss the word list (for spelling :) ) and different coloured letters/chamacters. This has better layout for my liking. On pixel7a it is too 'senstive' and the char typed don't always work; but it works great on galaxy10e.

Great! Some layout differences from Messagease, but you'll get used to it. Very responsive and nice dev!

switched from messagease, I like the main color palette n' design. Wished there was a switch keyboard thingy to switch to like gboard so I can write chinese characters. Imma use smthg else for now. THX still! ------------ edit: Oh i never knew that! on Samsung A50 that option exists, but not on my Xiaomi 14T. TY for adding the keyboard switch function!

So far so good. Where are the two special characters [the a and o with the two dots over them] located as I keep having them show up in words and cant figure out what I am hitting. As a prior ME user, finding this was a blessing. Muscle memory makes typing fun again. I just ca.nnot deal with QWERTY. I see the microphone but when I swipe it, I get the message No Voice Input Method Found. So I went into setting, apps and FlickBoard - permissions for microphone, camera, etc is grayed out.
