What's New

This release brings Show Less functionality to mobile. Users can now choose “Show less from this channel” via the context menu on certain algorithmically-generated rails in Home. This action reduces how often videos from that channel appear in that view.

Additional updates:
• Minor UI and UX refinements to the new episodic channel layout

I appreciate Nebula for what it is and enjoy that there is an app so I can listen to videos on my phone. However, the app is Extremely buggy, crashing and/or ceasing to respond routinely when I use it. I almost always wind up having to force close and reopen the app several times in a single session for one reason or another. There is also no playlist option, which is disappointing. For a paid service, I wish it worked a bit better.

Far too basic and glitchy considering it's a paid service, no auto captions, no playstation app so can't watch on TV, crashes a lot and fails to play videos, and it's difficult to jump to specific times in videos using the progress bar as it doesn't show how where in the video you are when you touch the bar. So if you lose your place you kind of just have to tap around hoping you can get to the same spot again (very annoying with longer videos.) Just a basic, poor quality video player tbh.

I love Nebula's content, enough to purchase a lifetime subscription. But this app is so bad. Hitting back on the main page doesn't close the app. I have to swipe up to go home or kill it. Then there's the fact picture-in-picture doesn't work. I've tried toggling the option between sessions with no resolution. Removing a download doesn't automatically remove the video from downloads until you refresh the page. I hope these things are being looked into. On a Pixel 9 Pro using Android 15.

Great idea, buggy execution. Love the idea of a subscription-based, rather than advertisement driven platform. But it's all but completely unusable. When I stop watching to do something else and then go back, it does not play. On top of that there is no bug reporting system built in. I do not normally have diagnostic sharing turned on, but I do for this in hopes that they can improve usability.

Great Content, Buggy App. Frequent issues with Auto-Rotation or Playback, the "view more" buttons on the home page work maybe 60 percent of the time, requiring an App restart. It sometimes reports no internet and wont play back Videos when the device is obviously connected. On the other hand, the content and subscription are absolutely great. I love that creators get paid more for regular videos, and originals like Tom Scott's Money, Jet Lag: The game and many others are very fun.

The content is generally really good. Good creators and at a reasonable price. Although I am not super happy with the implementation of the app. The "videos from channels you follow" is hard to find. Videos in your "watch later" list are not removed once they have been watched. Some very simple actions are way too slow, making the app feel sluggish. For example removing a single video from the "watch later" list can take up to 1-2 seconds after pressing the button.

Like others are saying, I like the idea, and love the creators and content, but the app needs a bit of work. I haven't had any crashes, but if I leave the app to do something else, then come back, the video usually fails to reload. But, one of my biggest issues with it is actually super easy to fix. The video control buttons are hard to press. Like, I'll "press" play or maximize or skip 10 seconds, but it just thinks I tapped the screen, so it takes away the controls. Just make the hitbox bigger

Nebula is an AMAZING service! It has so much to offer and at a world-beating price! BUT... the app itself is garbage. Idk who is responsible for maintaining it but its effectively unusable. I've never used an app that gave me so much trouble. Sometimes it simply wont load. Even when i clear the cache, close down all my background apps, and have full wireless or wifi bars. Im done fighting. When my annual subscription for this year is done, if they havent fixed it, Im canceling my subscription.
