Saber is the notes app built for handwriting.

It's designed to be as simple and intuitive as possible, while still delivering unique features that you'll actually use. Additionally, Saber is available across all your devices, large and small, and syncs between them seamlessly.

Notably, it can invert your notes when you're in dark mode. This allows you to write with white ink on a black background, which is much easier on the eyes in low-light environments like when the teacher turns off the lights in class.
Images and PDFs are also inverted, so you can still use a digital printout or a textbook without the fuss.

Saber uses a dual-password system to protect your notes from anyone but you, even if they have complete control over the server. You can safely store your notes on the official Saber server, another server, or even host your own!

The app is completely open-source so that anyone can view the source code and see exactly what it's doing and how it handles your data. Many other note-taking apps are closed-source and proprietary, meaning that their inner workings are a mystery to the public.

As someone who studies maths, highlighting multi-line equations was always a hassle with other apps, where the highlighter would change color when it overlapped with itself. Another problem I had was that in some apps, the highlighter would render on top of the text, fading it out and making it hard to read.
Saber's highlighter has no such issues. It utilizes canvas compositing to render the highlighter in a way that is consistent with/better than traditional paper, where it handles overlaps and maintains color consistency.

Saber has everything you need to keep your notes organized. Create folders inside folders inside folders to your heart's content with no limit on the number of nested folders. And even though a note may be buried deep within a nested folder, you can still access it easily with your most recent notes always available on the home screen.

Discover a whole new way to capture and organize your thoughts with Saber. Whether you're a student, professional, or creative mind, Saber is your trusted companion for digital handwriting. Download now and let your ideas flow freely!

This is amazing, the notes sync properly as promised and the note taking experience is pleasant. I had to disable auto straightening as it would mess up my writing. It should only kick in if the pen is held down. I wish we had more customiza options such as different colored page backgrounds built in and if we could have at least three pen sizes to switch between/customize in the toolbar. Lasso tool can't resize yet

I want to like this app but for me it's barely useable. I use my own PDF template which works well but I also wilrite at 4x zoom. At that zoom level the pen input is visibly laggy and makes writing quickly difficult. No 2 finger flick to move back to the beginning of the line. I wish there was a glide feature where you flick it and it glides in that direction. Also no default note template as pdf option.

Review for Saber App: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I've been using the Saber app for note writing, and I must say it's one of the most underrated apps out there! The range of features it offers is impressive, from organizing notes effortlessly to its user-friendly interface that makes writing a breeze. I particularly appreciate the customization options, which allow me to tailor my notes to my preferences. It has truly enhanced my productivity and made my note-taking experience enjoyable. it's nice but syncing is a chore. i opted to use this since it's cross platform but it's frustrating how you have to log in each and everytime, please add auto sync. also the current syncing isn't really cooking 💀... like it's 15 minutes now and my files from pc still isn't visible on my phone. this has a lot of potential though so 3 😓

Saber is the dream note-taking app I was looking for. It has huge potential. Some suggestions: add ability to erase handwriting when pressing and holding SPen button, add writing "sounds" like in Samsung Notes, UI improvements like pen size slider takes up too much space when toolbar is on the left side so a fix is need, and red pointer fades after a long time. Thanks for keeping the app free and open source! Edit: I understand that the pointer has to fade but it should fade a bit faster.

I know this app is created mainly for doodling notes on big touch screen devices, but for more serious notes I prefer to type the texts to avoid "shaky" situation. The app is close to being unusable on 6" screen in text mode, keyboard takes the lower half of the screen, toolbar takes almost all of the top half, only leaves about 2 lines of text visible when typing. Maybe not for my use case, for me typed in text notes are more useful when syncing back & forth with computers. Good idea otherwise.

It would be more convenient if the toolbar was editable with options to create shortcuts to favorite pens, colors and thicknesses. The last update added 'shape recognition pen' but it doesn't work properly. It is difficult to draw a straight line. Most of the time when I try to draw a straight line, triangle or circle it turns into a rectangle. Using this tool freezes the app. I hope this bug is fixed soon. If it wasn't for this issue, this app would have deserved a 5 star rating.

I have been looking for an app like this for over 10 years! I have a Samsung phone with the S Pen, but a Mac and an iPad. Cross platform note syncing has been a nightmare. I don't care for OneNote, and Samsung Notes only works on Samsung devices. I'm so glad I found this app. It has the simplicity of Samsung Notes and is available to sync on all devices. Up to now, I love it! I honestly can't express how happy I am.
