Don't buy it, or return it if you can. Used to be a limited but decent app with basic recipes. Seemingly recently changed and with greatly reduced functionality and an ask for more money after owning the product for years. I wasn't asking for anything new, though that would have really impresses me. Instead you remotely hobbled a device that I used to enjoy using.

DO NOT UPDATE YOUR APP!! Anova chose to put all recipes, cooking recommendations, and remote app controls for the cooker behind a subscription paywall. I specifically bought this cooker for those things that were advertised as INCLUDED. There's been a premium subscription for recipes beyond basics which's great for those who want it. I don't. It's not ethical to bait and switch the rest of us by removing what's been promised. We already paid at purchase. Please fulfill your obligation.

This app is extremely buggy. You tap on guides for chicken, eggs, fish, pork, but always get the page for steaks. How could such a buggy app ever have been released? The Bluetooth feature is also overhyped. In reply to your offer of offering "solutions": the only viable solution would be to fix the bugs.

Useful for some temps but not much else. I have the Pro and cannot connect it. I followed the instructions, restarted multiple times but after entering the pairing code it does not connect. Which means retyping the wifi password at the next attempt again. Sadly the connect feature which is the main feature of the app doesn't work. If you just want it for the recipies and don't like the browser this app is okay I guess.

Works pretty well. More setting options would be nice, by it works quite fine. Really, no complaints. Update as of 10/14/2024: Greed takes over and I'm now required to subscribe to use features that were originally included with my purchase of the ANOVA sous vide machine. For however lovely the app was before, it is now paywall trash. Don't recommend you bother when Allrecipes and a ton of other recipe platforms will still give you resources without the fee.

You have to finesse the connection to the machine which was pretty difficult and required a lot of research. There's no information in the app which is why I gave a three star rating. Once connected to it works pretty good and there are a good number of recipes and the app is fairly intuitive.

Awkward setup procedure. It looks like they gave marketing and legal way too much influence on the design. It should just start with a pairing procedure, and *then* give you the *option* of signing up with e-mail. The subscription model is a mistake—people hate to feel nickled and dimed. Once you muddle past the awkward, intrusive setup, you can set time and temp from the app. Without the app, you can set temperature, but not time. (There's a button for time, but it is disabled on mine.)

this was a great app, with a multitude of features, until they decided to introduce memberships to make you pay for those features. Now you have to subscribe to get recipes, push notifications, cook history and so on. Basically with the free membership, you get remote control of the device, and can check the cooking progress. all the other previously free features are now locked behind a paywall.
